New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Beats 4 Djs Records) Mistah Nerf is an Electronic Dance
Music producer from the Philippines. Recognized by Beats 4 Djs Records and it's subdivisions as a rare talent hailing from his country. He started climbing the ranks as a recognized producer with his debut song "Linkin Park 'Bleed It Out' Remix" and "Come My Way Feat. Ishmael Johnson". His first EP "The M-Bomb Has Landed" has indeed landed him on numerous compilations with the likes of Laidback Luck, Tiramitsu, and Dario Synth to name a few.
In a city where a song filled with a lot of wobble bass, heavy drops and filthy synths isn't really recognized on a mainstream level, Mistah Nerf hopes to change that and be the first successful Dubstep producer in the Philippines, if not in his hometown of Iloilo City.
Mistah Nerf has just dropped his latest album, "Mistah Nerf - RMX2". Fourteen worldwide megahits remixed into energetic House and Dubstep styles. I love albums where you can consistently hear new things in the music each time you listen to it, and this is one of those albums. It has the usual synth sounds, 8-bit sounds, ever changing drum beats, solid bass, weird unidentifiable sounds, and I particularly like how all this is used over our favorite tunes.
Mistah Nerf is like a rocket launch into new territories, utilizing new instruments and a more cacophonous approach. He is headed in the right direction, exploring anything his imagination conjures up, and I hope he goes further.
The hit tracks covered ,cracked and explored include, among others: Esmée Denters - Outta Here,
Icona Pop - I Love It,
Meiko - Leave The
Lights On,
Ellie Goulding - Burn, One Republic - If I lose Myself,
Paramore - Still Into You and Zedd Feat.
Foxes - Clarity.
Awesomely addictive, with a seductive texture, this album speaks highly of what someone can do with a personal computer and an endless sonic imagination. Each track is essential to the whole experience of the album, and you'll find yourself needing to hear it again and again and again.
Superb from top to bottom, Mistah Nerf leaves very little room for nitpicking or criticism on this album. The balance is nearly perfect. Enlightening, layered, modern, edgy, moody, distinctive and full of feeling. It's also non-pretentious and not trying to perpetrate as just another artsy Dubstep album.
"Mistah Nerf - RMX2"has so much depth remixed into each song on this collection. You think a song is going one way, and then Mistah Nerf takes you to an unforeseen level of listening. Bravo!
