Donna De Lory Aims To Bring Devotional Music To The Masses With Her Latest Effort, The Unchanging
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ White Swan Records) On January 28th, Donna De Lory released her latest effort - THE UNCHANGING - on CD in a collaboration between her own imprint, De Lory Music, and White Swan Records. The album was released on iTunes in August and debuted at #2 on the World charts. THE UNCHANGING is one of De Lory's most deeply personal albums to date, with chilled out electronic textures, world flavors, sonorous string arrangements, tender balladry and lyrics that touch on the heart's eternal truths.

Many of the tracks on THE UNCHANGING are musical and lyrical meditations on the recent passing of the singer's father, renowned session pianist and producer Al De Lory. "I'm really honoring him with this album," says Donna. "It's about how my father's death affected my whole spiritual path. When you go through that transition with someone who was one of the most important people in your life, it's a blessing and deeply transformative experience."

THE UNCHANGING boasts a stellar cast of A-list musical talent, including mixmaster Kevin Killen (U2, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Elvis Costello), bassist Tony Levin (Gabriel, King Crimson, John Lennon) drummer Jerry Marotta (Gabriel, Costello, Paul McCartney) guitarist Jerry Leonard (David Bowie), drummer Dave Allen (Michelle Branch) and longtime De Lory collaborator, keyboardist, film composer and electronic music producer Mac Quayle. The lavish production also weaves in the mantra musicianship of bhakti stalwarts like tabla master Girish, bansuri flute virtuoso Manose and bassist Mark Gorman.

With a string of best-selling and much-loved albums including THE LOVER AND THE BELOVED (2004), SKY IS OPEN (2006), SANCTUARY (2008) and REMIXES (2010), Donna De Lory has become one of the reigning queens of world devotional music, renowned for delivering rapturous performances at yoga and consciousness festivals like BhaktiFest, Omega and Lightning in a Bottle. But before devoting her life to singing sacred mantras and lyrics of spiritual aspiration, Donna traveled the globe with Madonna, and rocked international dance floors with her own pop music. THE UNCHANGING is a joyous distillation of all that vast experience, revealing a musical perspective as wide as the world itself.

After spending two decades as one of Madonna's backup-singer/dancers, appearing in "Truth or Dare" and on stage with the pop icon during her legendary Who's That Girl, Blonde Ambition, Downed World, Girlie Show and Confessions tours, Donna made her debut as a solo artist in 1993 with her self-titled album on MCA/Universal. The album landed in the top 10 on the US dance chart and hit #1 in Japan. She decided to shift directions with her next album and started performing mantra music. In 2000 she released BLISS, the first in a string of albums that have become the soundtrack for the yoga and consciousness movement of the 21st century.
