New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ SGC Media) Broadwing, a.k.a Ben Allen from the central Australian outback town of Alice Springs, is making waves with the first single "Anodyne" off his upcoming debut EP Pinhole Camera.
Allen's songs feature an amalgamation of organic, live instrumentation and electronic software integration, all recorded in his home - live, however, Broadwing has showcased a range of performances from stripped back acoustic shows to more involved electronically aided performances.
Broadwing was first brough to light with attention from national youth radio network triple j's "Home and Hosed" host, Dom Alessio, who said "An incredible talent from the middle of Australia...what's more impressive is that it's just one guy!"
Off the back of that attention, Allen was chosen from 900 entrants as the winner of the 2012 APRA Tropscore competition, and went on to perform his work in front of an audience of 90,000 at the internationally renowned short film festival Tropfest at Sydney's Domain. Allen was also invited to attend the triple j APRA Song Summit that year, to participate in a roundtable discussion featuring Gotye and Magic Dirt's Adalita Srsen.
Broadwing's debut EP Pinhole Camera is slated for release in early 2014.
