New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Mia Mind Music) Everyone knows it's hard to make a living as an Indie artist. It's no secret that CD sales are way down, and in general, people just don't seem to want to buy music anymore. Performance venues are seldom full, and in most cases, if you're not willing to give away your music for free then there are dozens of other musicians who are more than willing to forego the money in exchange for the possible opportunity the promise of exposure may, or may not, lead to.
With his 2nd album, "saint", ready to roll out at the end of this month (official street date 02/25/14)
Danny Blu is watching the bills pile up. Like most Indie artists, the cost of studio time, mastering, manufacturing, promotion and marketing, 101 other unexpected expenses, as well as an upcoming North American Sanctuary Tour, comes out of his own pocket. Working nights tending bar helps cover some of the expenses, but is not nearly enough to finance all the things that must get done to take his dream to the next level. So what's an Indie artist to do? BE CREATIVE!
On February 17th, 2014,
Danny Blu launched a fundraiser campaign on Indiegogo.com (https://igg.me/at/dannyblu). He's looking for investment angels/saints to help him fund a film documentary and web-series chronicling the tour and the stops he'll be making along the way to discuss his crusade to battle teenage and cyber bullying.
Danny will be visiting schools, shelters, LGBTQ organizations and community centers while on tour to speak with disenfranchised young people. So your rocking support will help to get the word out about these anti-bullying efforts. As an added perk, anyone who donates will receive rewards ranging from producer credits on the film and a living room concert for you and your friends to autographed CDs.
Every cent counts, so Blu and the band will also be hosting fundraising events at local NYC nightclubs. The first stop is scheduled for Friday, February 28th at The Rockbar (185
Christopher St.).
Doors open at 6:30 PM and
Danny and The Factory take the stage at 9:00 PM. Together we can use music and artistic exploration to build self-awareness, confidence and the ability to overcome pain and adversity. For more information, or just to stay in touch, go to: thefactoryblu.com.
