HOUSTON, TX. (Stevens/FKM/ www.fkmagency.com) - The Titan Go King's, one of Japan's up-and-coming punk-rock bands, and other popular Japanese girl bands are coming to spread J-Pop music to the city of San Francisco. The term J-Pop denotes a modern style of Japanese music that encompasses most popular genres: girl groups, Anime songs, boy bands, bubblegum-pop, J-Rock and video game music.

The Titan Go King's are not just a pretty trio in wool knit caps. Pop-wild with a taste of 80's punk, the Titan Go King's have just released their second album, Gut's Idol, on the woman-specific, Tokyo-based Benten label, https://www.sister.co.jp/english/index.html.

Japan Girls' Nite is stopping at Studio Z, www.studioz.tv/events/japan032705, 314 11th St. Sunday, March 27. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door and are available at www.ticketweb.com.

Japan Girls' Nite will also be playing in Berkeley at The Starry Plough, 3101 Shattock Ave. on Saturday, March 26. The doors open at 8 p.m., show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $8 at the door.

After cutting their American teeth at the demanding South by Southwest Music Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, several J-Pop bands are off on a whirlwind tour across the country - New York City, Los Angeles, Berkeley, Chicago, Seattle and more. Information about this unusual tour can be found at www.sister.co.jp/GirlsUStour2005.

The SXSW Music Festival is an annual event that showcases hundreds of musical acts from around the globe on fifty stages in downtown Austin, Texas. By day, conference registrants do business in the SXSW Trade Show in the Austin Convention Center and attend panel discussions featuring hundreds of speakers of international stature. During the evenings, music-industry attendants have the opportunity to listen to new and up-and-coming bands. The 19th annual SXSW Music Festival takes place March 16 - 20, 2005.
Sample MP3s can be heard at www.sister.co.jp/Titan/index_e.html.
Complimentary guest passes are available for this show; please call Mike Barone at 713-867-3279 to make arrangements. The Titan Go King's are available for interview before and after the show.

Other Japan Girl's Nite bands include Petty Booka, Tsushimamire, Puppypet and Fantasy's Core. Petty Booka values the spirit of punk in their own way - performing Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Madonna and the Ramones on dueling ukuleles. Tsushimamire is a modern, Japanese version of Mother Goose - unique, funny, cute and scary.
Puppypet, with a twin sister duo, have been described as "a moshing Bambi, lost in overdrive sound." Fantasy's Core, is a super-tight band that is indie to the core; they are the self-proclaimed ambassadors to the world for Nagasaki, Japan.
