Ice Nine Kills Unleash "Savages" Lyric Video
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "Out on the cringe of society's where we lie, because we're lethal liabilities till we die," chants ICE NINE KILLS fearless front man SPENCER CHARNAS in the explosively catchy single "Savages," taken from their groundbreaking 2018 effort THE SILVER SCREAM via Fearless Records. In merely a few short weeks, "Savages" has rapidly climbed to #25 on the Active Rock radio charts. The band has unveiled a striking lyric video featuring live concert footage interspersed with iconic images from the movie it's based on,The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, overlaid with chill-inducing graphics. Watch it here or streaming below:

In honor of the new single, horror enthusiast CHARNAS curated a list of the Top 5 most 'savage' tracks featured on THE SILVER SCREAM and the equally savage horror films that each were inspired by. Read his list below while streaming the tracks on each listener's preferred digital platform: https://found.ee/thesilverscream.

"ICE NINE KILL's 5 MOST 'SAVAGE' SONGS (& THE MOVIES THAT INSPIRED THEM)" - by Spencer Charnas:

1. "THE AMERICAN NIGHTMARE" / A Nightmare On Elm Street
"Our album kicks off with a sinister tribute to the 1984 Wes Craven classic, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. The entire premise of a killer hunting you in your dreams is so genius because no matter what you do, no one can escape eventually falling asleep- so therefore your death at the hand (or glove, rather) of Mr. Krueger is imminent. Charles Bernstein's almost sci-fi like score sets the perfect tone for this film, and we wanted to pay homage to that in our own INK fashion."

2. "THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY / Friday the 13th
"Welcome to Camp Crystal Lake! Home of the most twisted mother/son murder duo this side of Hell. On this track we bring the world of Jason Voorhees, his mother and those poor doomed counselors into the theatrical metal stylings of Ice Nine Kills. Complete with nods to Harry Manfredini's iconic score, a guest spot from our gifted pianist friend Joe Occhiuti, our own take on important character dialogue from the movie and a campfire sing along that turns from rapidly from a "kumbaya" vibe to a machete slicing breakdown, this song should remind all you sex crazed teens out there to stay the hell out of Jason's woods!"

3. "STABBING IN THE DARK" / Halloween
"There's been a million slasher imitators that were released in the wake of John Carpenter's 1978 holy grail of horror film, Halloween, but almost none have ever come close to matching the sheer terror of Michael Myers and that expressionless white mask. This is our love letter to the night HE came home.
Lyrically we take you through Michael's journey of escaping from Smith's Grove Sanitarium all the way through his famous rampage in Haddonfield, IL. The movie, and hopefully our ode to it, will confirm that no one in fact can kill the boogeyman."

4. "SAVAGES" / The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
"They say everything is bigger in Texas and this is exactly the mentality we had when penning our tribute to Tobe Hooper's seminal and brutal 1974 cult classic, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The song never lets up the entire way through just like the deranged cannibal family that it's based on. If the film as well as the song should teach you one thing, it's don't f*ck with the locals… especially in Texas."

5. "MERRY AXE-MAS" / Silent Night, Deadly Night
In 1984 a small budget killer Santa slasher film, with an unbelievably clever marketing campaign and premise, was unleashed on the public to a heavy backlash from PTA groups across the country. Banned almost immediately upon its release, it's infamous reputation only fueled the hype and granted this film the eventual cult status it so deserved. Directed by Charles E. Sellier Jr. and penned by Michael Hickey, we wanted to make this song as sleazy, funny and violent as the movie that it was inspired by. FA-LA-LA-LA-LA…Feliz Navi-dead!

Fans across several major U.S. cities were sent on a scavenger hunt over the past week, as ICE NINE KILLS revealed locations on social media with directions to 'Find the red balloon,' a reference to the classic Stephen King novel-turned-movie IT, which inspired their song, "IT Is The End." The first five fans at each location walked away with a branded red balloon and origami paper boat, a poster of the band and were also able to see a sneak peek of the song's upcoming music video, set to air in the coming week!

ICE NINE KILLS are currently overseas on the European leg of their headlining "Silver Scream" tour until September 27, and will next be seen performing on stages across the U.S. leading SiriusXM Octane Presents "The Octane Accelerator Tour" from October 29 to December 1 with support from Fit For a King, Light The Torch, Make Them Suffer and Awake At Last.
