Carly Jamison Offers New Original Christmas Music For Holiday Playlists
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) When I lived in a tiny city apartment, I didn't have a chimney, fireplace, or room for a tree. How do you explain the Santa Claus myths to kids that grow up like that and have questions and worry that Santa won't arrive...

Rock singer-songwriter Carly Jamison has announced the release of her second Christmas single "Oh No Santa Claus". Written as an acoustic blues song in the 2012 aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, it addressed many of the questions and issues that plagued displaced children and families at that time. However, these same questions and issues are often faced by many families every year and not just those affected by natural disasters. The song addresses the issues that arise when modern lifestyles deviate from traditional Christmas stories and Santa Claus myths.

"Millions of people live in apartment buildings and urban environments." says Jamison. "When I lived in a tiny city apartment, I didn't have a chimney, fireplace, or room for a tree. How do you explain the Santa Claus myths to kids that grow up like that and have questions and worry that Santa won't arrive or that they won't be able to participate in the holiday? I thought it was about time that topic was addressed in a Christmas song."

Recorded at The Sound Shelter in Franklin, TN, the song was produced by Tres Sasser, who says "We wanted to take the style of 70's urban funk and match it with a little Steve Cropper blues. The track is cool and slinky and tells a great story. Its a Christmas song that takes an inspired left turn."

Players on the project include Chris Tench on guitars, Tres Sasser on bass, and Nate Moran on drums and percussion. It was engineered by Brett Ryan Stewart and mixed by Joe Costa (known for his work with Ben Folds, Ke$ha, and Brad Paisley) at The Sound Shelter. Mastering was done by Andrew Mendelson at Georgetown Masters who has worked on dozens of Grammy winning, gold and platinum projects by artists including The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Willie Nelson, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum and many others.
