New York, NY (Top40 Charts) SOFI TUKKER have been nominated for a Best Dance/Electronic Album GRAMMY Award for their debut albumTreehouse. This is the duo's second nomination following a Best Dance Recording nomination for their debut single " Drinkee" in 2017. The group released a series of internationally celebrated singles from the album including " Best Friend" which became a Top 20 smash on US pop, alternative and dance radio this year. The Recording Academy will present the 61st GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, February 10th 2019, live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and broadcast the ceremony on CBS at 8 PM EST/ 5 PM PST.
About their nomination SOFI TUKKER says: "We can't believe this. We are OVERJOYED! Treehouse is all about building community, loving each other and yourself, and being free. We made Treehouse in order to return to a childlike state of play. And waking up to the news that it got nominated for a Grammy really makes us feel like kids on Christmas morning! Wayyyy better than that. We are so grateful for the love and support and belief and acceptance of our creations! EVERYONE IS INVITED INTO THE TREEHOUSE! LET'S PLAY!"
The GRAMMY nomination is the culmination of a breakthrough year for SOFI TUKKER. They began the year performing " Best Friend" on the Tonight Show, their US television debut, and MTV's TRL. They then debuted "Baby, I'm a Queen" on CONAN and took the opportunity to show their solidarity with the March for Our Lives. "Batshit", a fan favorite at their live shows, sound-tracked the iPhone RED ads internationally.
