The Artists:

Ty Herndon: It's no accident that Ty's musical journey began in a small Alabama church. His gifted vocal abilities were nurtured by his gospel singing/guitar-picking Grandmother from the time he was barely able to speak. So when Ty's smooth soulful sound rolled into Music City, he quickly became one of Nashville's most sought after singers. Ty's first single "What Mattered Most" soared to No 1 and was named "Music Row Song of the Year" in 1996, which began a cavalcade of awards and nominations.

Janie Fricke: Fricke began to dominate the country charts with smash hits such as Don't Worry ' Bout Me Baby, He's a Heartache and You're Heart's Not In It. It was only a matter of time before she started winning awards. Included among them are: CMA's Female Vocalist of the Year, Music City News Female Vocalist of the Year, "Billboard" Top Country Female Vocalist, "Cash Bed' Top Country Female Vocalist, ACM Female Vocalist of the Year, British-based Country Music Round Up Most Popular International Female Solo Act, and she was chosen to the Country Music Hall of Fame Walkway of Stars. Twice she has been nominated for the coveted (Grammy Award, once for her It ain't Easy Being Easy In her recording career, Janie has released 23 albums and 36 hit singles.

John Berry: As always, Berry brings a depth of emotion to each song. When his debut album, the platinum certified JOHN BERRY, came out in 1993 critics lauded his interpretative powers as strongly as they praised his vocal ability. "Your Love Amazes Me" became a #1 hit, with Berry's deeply felt delivery magnifying the significance of the lyrics. His gold-selling second album STANDING ON THE EDGE, released in 1995, included the hits, "Standing On The Edge of Goodbye" and "If I Had Any Pride Left At All." Each one of these emotionally-charged songs got an extra jolt of feeling from Berry's performance.

Mel McDaniel: Mel's only number one single "Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On," was one of the most played videos of the year and brought Mel to the forefront of the country music world. His next release was "Stand Up" which was a monster top-5 hit for Mel and which also became one of the most popular videos on television. With the success of these two releases the award nominations starting flying Mel's way with a 1985 nomination for Male Vocialist of the Year by the Country Music Association.

Leroy Van Dyke: Despite all the success of country music over the past 30 years, the classic song "Walk On By," recorded in 1961 by Leroy Van Dyke, has been named the biggest all-time country hit by Billboard magazine in its 100th anniversary issue (November 1, 1994). Based on sales, radio airplay and amount of time on the country charts, Van Dyke's "Walk On By" was designated the No 1 recording for the period of October 20, 1958, through June 25, 1994. Auctioneer is still, today, one of Van Dyke's most requested singles at concerts.

T. Graham Brown: When T. Graham Brown arrived in Nashville from his native Athens, Georgia in 1982, he quickly found work as a studio singer making demonstration tapes. Nobody ever sounded like him before, and in no time at all he was signed to Capitol Records. His first single release, "I Tell It Like It Used To Be" stymied country radio, but they played it anyway, and it became a hit. He followed it with "Hell And High Water," "Come As You Were," and "Darlene."All became huge country hits and T. Graham Brown and his incredible band, affectionately known as the Rack Of Spam, hit the road and haven't looked back since. And the hits kept on coming. "Brilliant Conversationalist" not only scored on the country charts, but its accompanying video garnered airplay on VH-1. His version of Otis Redding's "Dock Of The Bay" became a hit in Germany while "Rock It, Billy" was a success in England. He was nominated for Country Music Association Awards in 1987, 1989 and 1990 and winning in 1992 for the Vocal Event of the Year with George Jones and others on "I Don't Need Your Rocking Chair."

Baillie & the Boys: Baillie & The Boys return to their early sound, which initially attracted the attention of RCA President Joe Galante, who signed them promptly after a quick audition. Their self-titled, debut album, released in September 1987, received rave reviews, spawning the Top 10 hit "Oh Heart" and getting them a gig as the openers for George Strait. Their sophomore release, Turn The Tide, contained the hits "She Deserves You" and "Longshot," the latter of which crested in the Top 5 and remained on the charts for an amazing six months. Country music fans recognized the group in these early days for it's vocal prowess, a facet of Baillie & The Boys that defines the uniqueness of their latest compositions.

Hal Ketchum: Ketchum has had 15 top ten hits, countless songwriting awards, and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. Hal's release, Lucky Man, scored the top 40 hit, She Is, written for his muse, Gina. Hal and Gina were married on Valentines Day 1998 and have two daughters Fani and Ruby.

Tammy Cochran: When "Angels In Waiting" emerged as an unlikely country anthem in 2001, it provided a telling blueprint for Tammy Cochran's career. The song delivered her dream by relating an honest tale from her own life. Written about her two brothers, Shawn and Alan, who died from cystic fibrosis, "Angels" was not intended to be a single-she even had to fight to keep it on her debut album. But it became an anthem for many Americans, such a strong symbol of hope that her name appeared five times on the finalists list for the Academy of Country Music Awards, making her the most-nominated female in the business.
