Sydney, AU. (EMI MUSIC Australia) - In 1992 when, from Australia's east coast, Keith Urban departed for the USA - on the country's west, in the remote north town of Broome, two travelling sisters, Vikki and Donna Simpson, met up with Josh Cunningham and one of Australia's most successful independent band's, The Waifs, was born.

Fifteen years on and east meets west when The Waifs join Keith Urban as special guests on the Australian leg of his Love, Pain & the whole crazy World Tour in May.

Promoter Michael Chugg, Chairman of Chugg Entertainment, last week awarded the Country Music Association's (America) International Talent Buyer/Promoter of the Year, was in LA today.

'I'm proud to announce The Waifs as Keith's special guests,' he said.

'Anyone who has seen them live or who caught their knockout performance at WaveAid (Australia's Tsunami fundraiser) will agree they're perfect.'

The globally-loved indie trio leave won-hearts in their wake. Like Urban they've honed their craft touring relentlessly and playing live. Critics gush at the passion of their live shows, falling over adjectives to describe the love and connection the story-telling tunesmiths make with their audience. 'We're lucky to have them,' said Chugg.

'They've got young families and live in different parts of the world. They've juggled a lit of commitments to make this happen and I couldn't be happier.'

'We really wanted to be part of this tour,' said Josh.

Vikki was recently the first non-USA-citizen to win, ahead of 30,000 others, both the Best Folk Category and overall Grand Prize of the prestigious USA Songwriting Competition (2006) with her beautifully crafted song Bridal Train.

The Waifs are back in the studio readying for a mid-2007 release to their 2002 double-platinum, multi Award winning, fourth album, Up All Night.

Homegrown and home at last. Chugg Entertainment is pleased to present live in concert two of Australia's best: Keith Urban with The Waifs.
