New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, Trixie Mattel is launching into the next era of her musical career, with the release of her latest song & music video, "Yellow Cloud". An amped up departure from Trixie's previous chart-topping album 'One Stone' (which went to #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart and the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart), "Yellow Cloud" is an exciting electro-folk reinvention with notes of surf rock, rockabilly and alternative 90s rock. The song further solidifies Trixie Mattel as not only a major pop culture figure but also a musician with talents that defy classification.

Originally written during a soundcheck in 2018 while Trixie was on tour and missing her partner, the song is a dreamlike rumination about an idealistic future: "I can see the picket fences, and I can see you mow the lawn."

In an interview with Rolling Stone, who just premiered the video for "Yellow Cloud", Trixie describes the origin of this sonic rebirth: "My love for Sixties country music ushered me right into this new plugged-in radio sound. Listening to a lot of Fountains Of Wayne and Apples In Stereo. Collecting mod Barbie dolls and watching Brady Brunch reruns!"

The video feels like the hallucinogenic combination of Pee-Wee's Playhouse, H.R. Pufnstuf, DIY local access television, and of course Trixie's signature Barbie aesthetic, all dripping with irreverence. Taking place in a cartoonish salon, and co-starring comedienne Deven Green, and fellow RuPaul's Drag Race stars Tammie Brown and Thorgy Thor (voice), the video for "Yellow Cloud" (directed by Brad Hammer) is quintessential Trixie Mattel: bold, hilarious, but with major heart.

Trixie Mattel has broken major ground as an entertainer, first rocketing to national fame when she competed on RuPaul's Drag Race's seventh season, and later coming back to win the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. She co-created and currently stars in the wildly successful comedy web show UNHhhh with fellow Drag Race alum Katya Zamolodchikova, which was later adapted into the Viceland program The Trixie & Katya Show. Aside from her musical and television accomplishments, Trixie is the subject of the documentary Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, and she is also launching a cosmetics line, Trixie Cosmetics, later this month.
