James Bay Releases New "Oh My Messy Mind" EP Out May 10, 2019
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, three-time GRAMMY Award-nominated and BRIT Award-winning multiplatinum singer-songwriter James Bay surprised fans and released his new Oh My Messy Mind EP featuring new single and fan favorite song "Bad."

On the release of Oh My Messy Mind and "Bad" BAY said: "I regularly write things down in a stream of consciousness to empty my head. Oh My Messy Mind is a line I wrote on a particularly dark day a little while ago. It seemed to reflect a weight that I felt I was carrying at the time, and that comes back now and again. The songwriting that followed was me looking for a release. With Bad and the other songs on the EP I wanted to be honest about some of my own stories and other stories I was being pulled into. Bad is a break up song, it's just not my break up.

"Bad," which was produced by Dan Wilson (Adele "Someone Like You"), quickly became a fan favorite after BAY added it to his set list during his recent US headline tour this spring. The EP also features two additional new tracks "Break My Heart Right" and the song "Rescue" which was co-written by Ryan Tedder produced by Ariel Rechtshaid. Oh My Messy Mind also features hit single "Peer Pressure" [feat. Julia Michaels] which has already amassed nearly 30 million-plus Spotify streams and counting. Last month, the two made their network television debut of the song on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

To celebrate the arrival of Oh My Mess Mind, BAY has confirmed a string of live appearances and television performances for release week. On May 12th, he will tape an episode of American Public television's The Artists Den upcoming season (season 13) at a secret location in New York City. Fans can enter to win entry to the concert here: https://artistsden.com/jamesbayAD/

In addition, BAY will perform "Bad" for the first time on late night television on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (CBS) and again on TODAY (NBC) on May 16.
Finally, he will wrap up the week by performing for Chase customers at Marquee in New York as part of the Chase Sound Check Event Series in partnership with the Madison Square Garden Company on May 16.

2019 is shaping up to be a big year for Bay. He just finished up a headlining tour and two sold out shows at New York City's Beacon Theater. Next up, he joins Ed Sheeran on his European stadium tour. Check out the full itinerary below and purchase tickets here: https://www.jamesbay.com/tour

Since his emergence in 2014, JAMES BAY vaulted to the forefront of popular music fueled by transcendent vocals, deft musicality, and a striking sense of soul. Following the release of his debut album Chaos And The Calm, which featured—"Hold Back The River" and "Let It Go"— BAY was nominated for "Best Rock Album," "Best Rock Song," and "Best New Artist" at the 2016 Grammy Awards. In the UK, the record became the "Biggest New Artist Album Release" that year. Receiving the BRIT's Critics Choice award in 2015, BAY has gone on to receive a win for "Best Male Solo Artist" at the BRITS, "International Newcomer"at the ECHO Awards, "Best New Act" & "Best Solo Artist" at the Q Awards, "Most Performed Work" at the Ivor Novello Awards and was nominated for "Best New" & "Best PUSH" at the MTV EMA's and a MTV VMA for "Best New Act." On the other side of the globe, he has received a nod for "Best International Artist" at the ARIA Awards in Australia. In addition to selling out shows and performing at festivals across the globe, BAY lent a new version of his song "Running" for the 2016 Sports Relief charity, is an advocate for the international non-profit Wateraid, designed his own signature line for Topman, and Epiphone created the Limited-Edition James Bay Signature "1966 Century" Guitar in his name.

Between sold out shows everywhere and amassing nearly 2 billion streams, he unveiled Electric Light in 2018 which produced singles "Wild Love," "Pink Lemonade" and "Us." Bay co-wrote and produced the album with his longtime songwriting partner John Green and Paul Epworth (Rihanna, Adele). Last year, he made his Saturday Night Live debut performance, performed a duet of "Us" with Alicia Keys on The Voice Season Finale performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and sold out shows across the globe. In the summer of 2018, he opened for The Rolling Stones as direct support at London's Twickenham Stadium and joined Mick Jagger onstage for a duet of "Beast of Burden."
