NEW YORK (Phillips press release) - Chick Corea will headline a special listening event at Platinum Live in Studio City. Chick Corea will be playing piano live and also discussing his experience recording in cd, during his three week engagement at the Blue Note in NY resulting in the double SA-CD "Rendezvous in New York."

As an added bonus the audience will be able to experience a video of a live performance from the Blue Note and played back in multi-channel surround sound. After this amazing demonstration, there will be a press junket for members of the press to interview: Chick Corea and the producers of "Rendezvous in New York," Herbert Waltl and Ted White of Media Hyperium Studios.

Chick Corea has been one of the most significant jazzmen of the past 30 years for both piano and electronic synthesizer. He has composed several jazz standards including "Spain," "La Fiesta" and "Windows." A product of the post-bop '60s, his vast experience has ranged from dates with Blue Mitchell and Bobby Hutcherson, to Miles Davis early electronic period, to the experimental co-op Circle, to his own pioneering fusion outfits Return To Forever, plus his Electric and Acoustic bands.
