Big Virginia Sky Set For Album Release Concert At Vinyl Music Hall In Pensacola
Pensacola, FL. (Top40 Charts) Bluegrass-inspired Americana folk band Big Virginia Sky will hold a release party for their self-titled debut album on December 19, 2015 at 6:00 pm at Vinyl Music Hall in downtown Pensacola, Florida. Joining the band for the release show will be Gulf Coast musicians Tanya Gallagher and Brooks Hubbert. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance online at Vinyl Music Hall and at the door.

Over the past several months, Big Virginia Sky has been touring from the Virginia Coast to the Ohio River Valley, honing the edges on the 11 tracks from the album. Brett Stewart, a well-respected music blogger, recently remarked, "The album is absolutely terrific - well performed, well written, and always fun. It's an experience you need to immerse yourself in if you have any appreciation for country, bluegrass, blues, or Americana in general."

The album has been released to radio stations at AirPlayDirect. Americana tracks include the popular "Love Song" featuring guest vocals by Sierra Hull, "Southbound," "Pour One for Me" and "Big Virginia Sky." Bluegrass and Folk stations are currently spinning two instrumentals - "Sammy's Breakdown" and "Bull Frog."

Big Virginia Sky showcases the talents of Gulf Coast native, guitar player James Adkins on vocals and award-winning mandolinist and songwriter, Scott Slay. Brothers and award-winning instrumentalists, Dale and Steve Lazar provide percussion and bass as a rhythm section frequently referenced as a "heartbeat" in the Americana scene.

The band also features Sammy Shelor who is a 5-time IBMA Banjo Player of the Year Award winner, recipient of the 2nd Annual Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Bluegrass and Banjo Award, and current band leader and banjoist for Lonesome River Band. The Virginia Country Music Hall of Famer has also recorded and toured with country super star Alan Jackson and performed with the Zac Brown Band. Acclaimed Nashville musician Brandon Bostic will guest on Dobro and electric guitar.
