Chip Taylor And Carrie Rodriguez Hit The Road Again
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Newly-elected Songwriters Hall of Fame member Chip Taylor and acclaimed Americana performer Carrie Rodriguez have announced a special series of tour dates, reuniting the dynamic pair who wowed fans and critics alike in the past with a string of celebrated albums and live shows. Dubbed the "10th Anniversary Red Dog Tracks Reunion Tour" because it salutes the recent deluxe reissue of the duo's Red Dog Tracks CD, the tour will focus on USA shows in Texas, New York City and Northampton, Massachusetts, as well as Canada.

"When we toured in the past, every time we hit the stage it was total chill time … physical chills... from the sound of our voices caressing each other ... to the manner in which the voices drifted in and out of specific emotion that was being newly created. It was never the same ... but it was always magical," says Chip Taylor.

"Rehearsing these C&C songs now is reminding me how magical it was and will be. Can't wait to see my amazing and oh-so-talented and vibe-y friend and for this tour to start!"

In their six years together as musical partners, Chip Taylor and Carrie Rodriguez released four albums (Let's Leave This Town, The Trouble with Humans, Red Dog Tracks and Live at the Ruhr Triennale) and an EP (Angel of the Morning), hit the top of the Americana charts several times and toured around the world. No Depression said at the time, "Folk music - Americana, singer-songwriter, alt-country - doesn't get much better than this. Here is the new standard of duets that all others should be judged by."

Following a farewell tour in 2007, Taylor & Rodriguez have written songs together - some for Rodriguez's #1 album Give Me All You Got and others for extra tracks on their greatest hits compilation, The New Bye & Bye, but the two have not toured with each other again until now.

Chip Taylor, 2016 inductee into the Songwriters Hall of Fame (Wild Thing, Angel of the Morning), was beginning a comeback into music in 2001 when he saw Berklee-trained Carrie Rodriguez playing fiddle on stage in Texas. He added her to his touring band and very shortly thereafter, their duets were the highlights of the show. During that tour, Taylor wrote an entire album of songs for the two to sing together and a short, yet powerful, partnership was born.

Setting out on her solo career, Rodriguez went on to release a series of acclaimed Americana albums. Her latest, Lola, featured an all-star band, The Sacred Hearts - guitarist Bill Frisell, Viktor Krauss on bass, Luke Jacobs, David Pulkingham and Brannen Temple - and garnered spectacular reviews and press. She has also has continued to tour and record behind luminaries such as Lucinda Williams and John Prine. Taylor has also continued to release solo records including the Grammy-nominated Yonkers NY album in 2009 and the Little Prayers Trilogy< which UK magazine Uncut included on its Best of 2015.

On June 17, Chip Taylor released two new CDs of music: Little Brothers and I'll Carry for You (Train Wreck Records, distributed by RED). Little Brothers is a charming album collection filled with engaging, graceful songs that will make you both smile and think. It is the perfect soundtrack for a peaceful, sunny morning; a quietly fun album that also rewards close-listening. Little Brothers features Taylor backed by a splendid band that includes Goran Grini (keyboards), long-time musical compatriot John Platania (guitar), Bill Troiani (bass) and a backing chorus of Taylor's granddaughters, Riley, Kate and Sammy Ennis.

Concurrently, Taylor also released the mini-album, I'll Carry for You. The instant classic title track was inspired by Canadian golfing sisters Brooke and Brittany Henderson, who caddy for each other, and is a song about the power of love. Brooke recently won her first major golf tournament at age 18 at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, becoming the event's youngest winner and moving her to second in the world rankings. The other songs have similar themes of Olympic passion, just in time for the 2016 Rio games.
