Lily Elise Releases New Single "Let Me Down," Featuring New Artists, Made In LA
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Bay Area alt-pop singer and songwriter Lily Elise is releasing her first single, after the release of her OLIVER EP, titled "Let Me Down," featuring artist duo MADE IN LA. The single, a smooth, rhythmic record featuring soft, airy vocals, describes a desperate plea for clarity in a relationship. Listen and share the song at https://soundcloud.com/lilyelise/let-me-down-feat-made-in-la.

The record was co-written, produced by, and features vocals from new-to-the-scene, LA duo, MADE IN LA. Says MADE IN LA, "Working with Lily is always a natural and easy process. From the first time we worked together, it was comfortable; we just clicked. When we were writing "Let Me Down" the session flowed in the way we hope they all will - basically, in a fun, creative, and collaborative way."

About the song, Elise stated, "When I'm talking to a guy and I'm not feeling it anymore, I've learned to just cut it off. It's hard to do cuz we all want to have someone there when we feel like it, but honestly it's not fair or cool to do that to someone... I just wish guys would do the same. Don't try to keep us in your back pocket, just let us know what's up and let it go. Only one guy in my dating history has done that for me and I respect him so much for it. Big ups to that guy."

Elise will be performing this song and those from her recently released EP in a soulful, pop bill including collaborators MADE IN LA and opener, UK-based, Jessica Morgan. The show, takes place at Pour Vous in Hollywood, CA, on June 14. Doors open at 8 p.m. and admission is free to those 21+.

Lily Elise is an independent alt-pop artist from the Bay Area. Influenced by a multitude of artists and genres, Elise pulls from each of those when writing songs, creating a unique blend that doesn't live in one specific genre. Her music has been referred to as a "mesmerizing mix of... edgy pop, R&B, or even EDM" by Billboard and "a stunning combination of pop and R&B that few can pull off" via All Things Go. In addition, Elise finds inspiration from the artists she tours and/or collaborates with. Singing with Don Henley on his world tour has allowed her to learn and grow from being around the legendary songwriter, singer and performer and soaking up as much of that energy as possible. Further, Elise loves working with artists from a variety of genres, such as Dillon Francis and Twin Shadow, which she continues to do as a songwriter and vocalist, for the pure love of collaborating. Elise began her musical journey singing in a cappella groups, eventually finding herself on Season 1 of a then unknown, vocal competition show, The Voice. Being a contestant on the show made the young artist realize she needed to have her own voice, which is when she started writing. Solely drawing from her personal experiences, writing songs has become a form of therapy for Elise who pours her heart and soul into each and every line. Releasing her music completely on her own, Elise states, "I don't do music for money or attention. I just want to connect with people and make them feel something."

MADE IN LA is a multi-racial, multi-cultural, mixed-genre duo created in Los Angeles, California. Known as a melting pot, Los Angeles is a city known for its diversity across styles, races, ethnicities, music, fashion, art and so on. Similar to the city from which the duo hails, MADE IN LA shares in that diversity. Lead singer, Marlon McClain II, an African-American, Polish, Scottish, Irish, and Native American 22 year old began playing the guitar and writing songs at 12 years old. Marlon's influences stem from a combination of singing in church and school choirs, learning from his father, who was the leader of soul/funk band Pleasure and later was longstanding guitarist for The Dazz Band, and forcing his friends and family to watch him as he'd perform Usher's "Confessions" with a fan blowing in his face to get the "wind" effect (open shirt and all). Producer, Cassio Lopes, a Brazilian, Lebanese and American 21 year old, hails from a family of musicians, particularly pianists. In middle school he played drums in a rock band, but quickly found his love for hip hop and urban music. The two members met in high school and began collaborating together. Predominantly self-taught, both Marlon and Cassio play multiple instruments and have created a sound that fuses their varied musical backgrounds together in a collaboration of pop, rock, r&b and hip-hop. MADE IN LA's debut EP is slated for a June 2016 release.
