George Pogatsia's Family On Board Wins Best Short Narrative At Williamsburg International Film Festival
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Williamsburg International Film Festival, voted top 20 coolest film festival by MovieMaker Magazine, was established to provide a platform for the creative visions of today's emerging artists of all disciplines. The film festival is an opportunity for filmmakers to enhance their careers by exposing their projects to a powerful audience, gaining crucial media exposure and strengthening industry relationships. For more info on Willifest, visit https://www.willifest.com

Williamsburg is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. It is an influential hub of current indie rock; it is attributed to be the place of origin of electroclash, and has a large local art community.

The award is special to Pogatsia, a Brooklyn native. Pogatsia, on winning at Willifest: "I'm proud and I feel blessed that a great artist community appreciates my work." This is the fourth award Family On Board has won on the festival circuit.

Family On Board stars Eric Roberts, Tony Sirico, George Pogatsia, Karina Arroyave, Gino Cafarelli and the late Matthew Cowles. The film tells the heartbreaking, thought-provoking tale of a heroic act gone awry. After a morning filled with painful goodbyes and contentious advice, Mike Petito (Pogatsia) is on his way to serve his prison sentence ... that's when catastrophe strikes.

A feature version of the short film is in development. Academy Award-winning director John G. Avildsen is slated to direct.
