Enrique Iglesias Dazzles Music Fans At MTV Live Georgia In Batumi
TBILISI, Georgia (Top40 Charts/ MTV Networks Europe) Enrique Iglesias won the hearts of Georgian music fans during his unforgettable performance at MTV Live Georgia in Batumi, 2 August 2011. The Latino heartthrob and global superstar entertained 11,500 music fans at an open-air concert in the city's historic Europa Square, while an additional 23,000 fans watched the show on giant screens in nearby Theater Square, The Boulevard and surrounding streets.

Making his first ever visit to the region, Iglesias electrified the crowds with his high octane performance and grasp of the Georgian language. The singer flew specially into Batumi all the way from Australia to perform for Georgian music lovers midway through his Euphoria tour. Iglesias, who holds the record as the best-selling Latin artist of all time, having sold more than 61.5 million albums and 40 million singles around the world, wowed the crowd with a sizzling set list combining the most stunning tracks from his 2010 Spanish/English album release Euphoria, including monster hit "I Like It" and "Heartbeat" as well as classic songs from his greatest hits catalogue such as "Hero," "Dirty Dancer" and "Be With You."

Despite a light drizzle at the beginning of the evening, Iglesias kept temperatures soaring with his energetic performance, with the audience singing along on every song. The singer received a rousing cheer when he invited a 19 year old Georgian teenager onto the stage for a kiss and slow dance. Even the Georgian President, Mikheil Saakashvili joined in the fun - at one point causing a sensation by joining music fans in the audience to dance along to Iglesias' music.

Also sharing the same stage with Iglesias were Georgian artists Stephane & 3G, Sofia Nizharadze and Eldrine, whose performances were enthusiastically received by the Georgian crowd. The Georgian artists' performances will be broadcast later in the year in a TV show entitled MTV Live Georgia.

The spectacular stage and awesome lightshow had concert goers gasping with delight as MTV put on a textbook demonstration of how to present live music, using every trick in the book from state-of-the-art LED and laser effects to giant confetti canons, dry ice and outsize balloons.

Highlights of Iglesias' performance at MTV Live Georgia will be broadcast as part of the MTV World Stage series on 18 September. MTV's global TV series brings artists with global relevance to audiences in over 600 million households in 152 territories. Recorded "live" at the most exclusive gigs, music festivals and unique concert locations from around the world, MTV World Stage offers a "front row seat" for music lovers to experience the hottest artists on the globe without leaving the comfort of their sofas.
MTV Live Georgia is produced in partnership between Viacom International Media Networks and the Government of Georgia.
