Starset Premiere Sci-Fi Themed Video Exclusively With Nerdist
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Cinematic rockers Starset have released a new music video today for their song "Halo" exclusively on Nerdist. The video is the next chapter in the narrative that is Starset's debut album Transmissions. The album presents a glimpse into the technical and creative mind of lead singer, writer and scientist, Dustin Bates. A singer, songwriter and accomplished musician, Bates also boasts serious scientific credentials - as A PhD candidate in electrical engineering from Ohio University, he has done research for the U.S. Air Force and taught at the International Space University.

Starset continues to unravel the saga behind Tranmissions with the "Halo" video exploring the movement to save humanity from an inevitable downfall caused by the misuse of technology. The atmospheric melodies and cryptic lyrics set Starset apart from other bands in their genre. The powerful, yet eerie messages weaved throughout the album echo the story line of an epic science fiction movie. Transmissions was produced by Rob Graves (All That Remains, Red).

Columbus, OH natives, Starset exploded onto the scene in 2014 and in a short time have made a mark with their distinctive style and live shows. The band's debut album Transmissions was released last summer and debuted at #50 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart marking one of the highest chart debuts from a new rock band in 2014. Starset's first single "My Demons" made radio history last year by being on the Billboard charts for a record-setting 43 weeks, peaking at #3 on Mainstream Rock Radio. This marked the longest chart run of the year at the format and the longest chart climb to the Top 5 at Mainstream Rock Radio for any artist since the launch of the chart in 1981. The band continues to light up request lines at rock stations all over the country.

Starset recently played the leading rock festivals Fort Rock, Carolina Rebellion and Welcome to Rockville and will play Rock on The Range, Rocklahoma and Northern Invasion in May. The band is now on the road with Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless and will join a tour with 10 Years on June 5th in Boise, ID (tour dates below).

"Science enthusiasts have long found a home in rock and roll- David Bowie and Rush are just a few who've crooned about the cosmos- but Starset frontman Dustin Bates one-ups most of his peers in the geek-chic quotient…He brings that background to his new band and its debut album, Transmission, which fuses the orchestral expanse of Muse with the harsher attack of the Deftones" - Revolver
