Acclaimed R&B Sensation Kehlani Partners With Atlantic Records Following Explosive Success Of Newly Released Project "You Should Be Here"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Atlantic Records has announced Kehlani as the newest member of its historic roster. Kehlani's partnership includes a deal to release Kehlani's solo records through her Tsunami Mob label. Earlier today Kehlani took to Twitter with the announcement, "Working with a label won't change a thing about my hustle nor will it change a thing about my music. This is just the beginning." Atlantic Records heavily supports her ongoing leadership and vision. The fiercely independent new R&B singer has recently unveiled her newest project "YOU SHOULD BE HERE," which has seen quite a bit of success so far https://smarturl.it/youshouldbehere.

Upon its release "YOU SHOULD BE HERE" sold more than 7,000 units and had over 1 million plays on Soundcloud, all within the first 24 hours. "You Should Be Here's dynamism and generosity is something to be amazed by, especially considering Kehlani is all of 19 years old," declared Pitchfork in a review of the project https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/20543-you-should-be-here/. According to Billboard, "The year's first great R&B album," "YOU SHOULD BE HERE" was this week's top selling R&B debut. The project came in at #1 on the iTunes R&B/Soul chart and #2 on both the Overall R&B Albums and Current R&B Albums chart. What's more, "YOU SHOULD BE HERE" hit the top 5 on the iTunes Overall Album Chart, Current R&B/Hip Hop Albums, Overall Digital Albums and Current Digital Albums chart. The collection is heralded by the new tracks, "You Should Be Here" and "How That Taste," which The Fader has already deemed "a soaring hi-haters anthem." The tracks can be heard now via Kehlani's official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDwRr3HZho8.

The acclaimed new R&B singer is currently at work on her major label debut, slated to arrive later this year.

Kehlani was one of the breakout stars of this year's South By Southwest (SXSW), performing on eight Austin stages throughout the festival. Buzzfeed named her among the top 5 on its "41 SXSW 2015 Artists You Need In Your Life," while Complex praised her for "impressing audiences with her poise and presence." Perhaps more significantly, Kehlani was #4 on Twitter's "Top 5 Most Mentioned Emerging Artists at SXSW" tally.

Kehlani blew up last year with her "CLOUD 19" mixtape - hailed by VIBE as "a delightful mix of '90s R&B samples and modern-day jams" - and its ecstatic hit single, "FWU."

Kehlani dreamt of being a dancer but an unfortunate knee injury caused her to pursue vocal training. The Bay Area-native joined the popular teen-pop combo Poplyfe in her early teens, appearing with the group as they finished in the top 5 of NBC's hit competition series, America's Got Talent. The experience proved a remarkable education for Kehlani, instilling a powerful work ethic and undeniable sense of stagecraft in the gifted young songstress.

In 2014, Kehlani broke out on her own with the smash "CLOUD 19" mixtape, revealing a wide range of influences spanning Lauren Hill and India Arie to Stevie Wonder and Musiq Soulchild. National attention rolled in, with Complex naming "FWU" among its "50 Best Songs of 2014" while also naming Kehlani in its "How R&B Saved 2014" feature. Additional acclaim came from such high profile publications as VIBE, The Fader, Pitchfork, and countless online outlets. As a result, the official companion video for "FWU" fast became a YouTube favorite, with total views now in excess of 800,000 at www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxHK6Irgt1Q.

An electrifying performer, Kehlani has shared stages with some of hip-hop and R&B's biggest stars. Recent highlights includes G-Eazy's blockbuster "From The Bay To The Universe" US Tour and San Francisco's "WiLD 94.9 Presents Girls On Fire" celebration of new female artists. Furthermore, Kehlani has just made her solo TV debut on REVOLT's REVOLT Live, performing "FWU" and fan favorite, "Get Away." As if that weren't enough, Kehlani has also unveiled a series of exclusive behind-the-scenes videos, dubbed "Tsunamisodes." The clips, which include music, live performances, interviews and much more, can be seen now at www.youtube.com/user/kehlanimusic.
