Alan Jackson Gives Fans The Chance To Vote For 2019 Tour Openers
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Country Music Hall of Famer Alan Jackson is giving fans the chance to choose who they'd like to see on the road with him by voting in AJ's Good Time Bar "Wild Card Contest." Along with traditional country powerhouses William Michael Morgan and Randy Houser as his special guests (see schedule below), a majority of Jackson's 2019 concerts will also feature an artist who plays at AJ's Good Time Bar. That list includes James Carothers, Amanda Daughtry, Jay Bragg and two to-be-determined "Wild Card" winners.

In an effort to highlight the true foundation of country music that is reflected through the grit of Nashville's Honky Tonk musicians, these artists will enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be in front of Alan's fans across the U.S., while also giving audiences a sense of the music that's showcased nightly at AJ's, the bar rated the "No. 1 Honky Tonk in Nashville" by Billboard. These five brand new acts will join the likes of others who've opened for Jackson in the past and gone on to become superstars themselves - people like Brad Paisley, Chris Young, Sara Evans, LeAnn Rimes, Jon Pardi and Lauren Alaina to name just a few.
A complete list of "Wild Card Contest" applicants can be found at ajsgoodtimebar.com/vote. Voting ends on Fri., Feb. 8 at 5 PM ET.

Alan Jackson's concerts find the country icon performing hits that have gained him legions of longtime fans, songs that continue to draw new crowds as a younger generation discovers his music. Fans will hear the songs they love from the man who wrote them and made them famous, including his debut hit "Here in The Real World"…signature songs such as "Chattahoochee," "Drive" and "Gone Country"…party anthems "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" and "Good Time"…and many, many more.

Jackson's 2019 tour will kick off at the KFC YUM! Center on Fri., Jan. 25 in Louisville, KY. For tickets and more information, please visit alanjackson.com/tour.

ABOUT JAMES CAROTHERS:
Nashville honky-tonk crooner James Carothers is best known for his stone-country originals, character bandmates, and for winning the 2018 WSM Road Show. In October, Rolling Stone Country listed him as of "10 New Country Artists You Need to Know." In 2019, James plans to release a series of 12 new singles - one every month - under the banner Songs and Stories. The Tennessee native and his band play every Friday at AJ's Good Time Bar from 2:45-6:15pm.

ABOUT AMANDA DAUGHTRY:
Amanda Daughtry's southern charm shines both onstage and off. Born and raised in North Carolina, at the age of seven she set her sights on the big stage inspired by her musical heroes Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire and Alan Jackson. Amanda currently splits her time performing between downtown Nashville and the road, averaging 200 shows a year. You can catch her at AJ's Good Time Bar every Friday night starting at 10:45pm.

ABOUT JAY BRAGG:
Songwriter, singer, bandleader, entertainer - Jay Bragg has been paying his dues in all these categories his entire life. Upon moving to Nashville, Bragg spent his days writing songs and his nights performing in the few honky-tonks that cater to the classic country sound that has always inspired him. Within no time, he was a staple at AJ's Good Time Bar. Jay's new record is called Honky Tonk Dream, a reflection of the last two years of his life which he says have been nothing but a honky tonk dream come true.

ABOUT ALAN JACKSON:
A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and recently inducted to the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Alan Jackson's membership among music's all-time greats is part of a long line of career-defining accolades that include three CMA Entertainer of the Year honors, more than 25 years of membership in the Grand Ole Opry, a 2016 Billboard ranking as one of the Top 10 Country Artists of All-Time, induction to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Heritage Award as the most-performed country songwriter-artist of ASCAP's first 100 years.

The man from rural Newnan, GA has sold nearly 60-million albums worldwide, ranks as one of the 10 best-selling male vocalists of all-time in all genres. He has released more than 60 singles - registering 50 Top Ten hits and 35 #1s (including 26 Billboard chart-toppers). He has earned more than 150 music industry awards - including 19 Academy of Country Music Awards, 16 Country Music Association Awards, a pair of Grammys and ASCAP's Founders and Golden Note Awards.

Jackson is one of the most successful and respected singer-songwriters in music. He is in the elite company of Paul McCartney and John Lennon among songwriters who've written more than 20 songs that they've recorded and taken to the top of the charts. Jackson is one of the best-selling artists since the inception of SoundScan, ranking alongside the likes of Eminem and Metallica.

ABOUT AJ'S GOOD TIME BAR:
Recently named the #1 honky-tonk in Nashville by Billboard and located at 421 Broadway in the heart of downtown Nashville, AJ's Good Time Bar is owned by Country Music Hall of Fame member Alan Jackson. Housed in the oldest building on Broadway, this historical venue was once, among other things, a civil war hospital, Nashville's first used record store and the home of the famous Bullet Records. In 2016, Jackson purchased the establishment and renamed it after his 2008 chart-topper "Good Time." Each floor now sports a different personality, showcasing Jackson's varied interests and hobbies. On the first floor, "AJ's Honky Tonk" prominently features live country music, while the second-floor "GT Bar" offers a sports- and car-themed atmosphere. The "Hullbilly Bar" on the third floor is proving to be one of the venue's biggest draws -- it's modeled after Jackson's Merritt Sportfish boat seen in his music videos for "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" and "Long Way to Go." That level also features karaoke and live music. The rooftop "Star Bar" caps AJ's Good Time Bar, providing a panoramic view encompassing the historic Ryman Auditorium, Broadway, Nissan Stadium and all of downtown Music City from its vantage point four stories above the stretch of road commonly called the "Honky Tonk Highway." As sole owner and visionary behind the venue, Jackson is known to make appearances at AJ's during the week and when not on the road. He's also a majority owner in ACME Feed & Seed, located just blocks away at 1st Avenue and Broadway.
