Alder Lights Release Official Music Video For "Pieces"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Billings, MT based, three-piece Alternative-Rock Band ALDER LIGHTS has released the official music video for their single, "Pieces." Originally premiered on Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life, "Pieces" is the first single from the forthcoming full-length Darkest Cameo set for 11/8/19 release.

"Pieces is written from the perspective of finding love and discovering it's not what you thought it would be. However, the sound is high energy and feels positive. We wanted to find a creative way of visualizing that contrasting vibe of trying to figure things out." - ALDER LIGHTS

Alder Lights is an up and coming three-piece alternative-rock band. Formed in the unlikely city of Billings, Montana. Alder Lights is overflowing with creativity, intentionality, and energy.

In the early years they went through various lineup changes. According to the band, this was due to each person learning not only how to be in a band but also time management within it. Founding members Jake Goldberg (Vocals, Guitar, Keys) and Marcus Barkac (Drums) pushed forward with recording their first album. Only a few short months before release, Marcus' brother, Kaleb Barkac (bass) joined the project. It became clear immediately this was a perfect fit.

Their debut album, Here's To Fate, released May 7, 2016 during an album release show in their hometown. Not only was this their debut album but also their first time headlining a show. Leading up to the release, the band would create lists of people they knew from social media to message privately and ask person-by-person if they would like to purchase tickets, personally delivering tickets to people's homes, workplace, or bars. This strategy, although tiring, paid off in a big way as they sold out the local venue. That night it became clear this project had evolved from a hobby into a passion.

Alder Lights continued playing a couple shows a year to continue building a local fanbase as well as a chance to hone in their stage presence and performance. On March 9, 2018 they released their hard hitting single, "Creatures." This was the first song written and recorded with this lineup and signaled a change in tone for the trio. While still sounding like Alder Lights, this was a more raw and energetic sound while somehow sounding more polished and mature.

The band took the next year to begin working on their sophomore album with that new direction in mind. Still working full time jobs, this process was slower than they would have liked. However, this is a group not content with releasing mediocre or rushed content so in an age of noise and pressure to constantly release something new, the band stayed silent.

During their silence, they were anything but. In early 2019 they signed with Damon Moreno at Inner Light Agency. That March they broke their silence to play at SXSW before getting back to work on the new album. Recording began in July 2019 and wrapped up two weeks later. Leading up to their sophomore effort, Alder Lights released their first single, "Pieces". The new album, Darkest Cameo, will release Friday November 8, 2019.
