ATLANTA, GA. (TBS/ www.turnerinfo.com) - Grammy-nominated Jive recording artists Bowling for Soup, whose single "1985" is currently climbing the music charts, have recorded a remake of the Gilligan's Island theme song to serve as the theme for TBS's new reality series THE REAL GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, set to premiere on Nov. 30.
In addition, a music video for the song, featuring the band, has been produced. The video is directed by Smith n' Borin and will be used to promote THE REAL GILLIGAN'S ISLAND both on TBS and in a variety of off-channel venues, including Regal Cinemas, a special DVD insert in Entertainment Weekly and cable music channels. The song will also be used in radio spots and online.

THE REAL GILLIGAN'S ISLAND features a group of people who personify the original Gilligan's Island: a real-life skipper, first mate, millionaire couple, movie star, farm girl and professor who, as on the 1960s sitcom, will work together to try to get off the island. Episodes are modeled after some of the situations that occurred in the original series.

THE REAL GILLIGAN'S ISLAND is being executive-produced by Mike Fleiss (The Bachelor, The Bachelorette). The father/son team of Sherwood Schwartz, the creator of the original Gilligan's Island sitcom, and Lloyd J. Schwartz also serve as executive producers. Lisa Levenson and Scott Jeffress serve as co-executive producers for NEXT Entertainment.

Bowling for Soup formed in 1994 in Wichita Falls, Texas, with frontman Jaret Reddick, guitarist Chris Burney, bassist Erik Chandler and drummer Gary Wiseman. After relocating to Denton, Texas, the group suddenly found themselves to be a popular draw, thanks to their combination of catchy pop hooks, old-school metal and goofy charm. After putting out two albums on their own, their third record, 1997's Rock On Honorable Ones!!, sold 10,000 copies on the Denton-based FFROE Records label. Their fourth release, Tell Me When to Whoa!!, helped the band land a deal with Jive Records.

Since signing to Jive, the band's career has taken off. Their 2000 album, Let's Do It for Johnny, and 2002's Drunk Enough to Dance have sold more than 300,000 copies and spawned such hit singles as "The Bitch Song," "Punk Rock 101" and "Girl All the Bad Guys Want," the latter earning them a Grammy nomination. Bowling for Soup's seventh album for Jive, A Hangover You Don't Deserve, features collaborations with such songwriters and producers as Fastball, Nerf Herder, Sugar Ray, the Nixons, SR-71 and Butch Walker, their longtime producer.

TBS is television's "very funny" network, serving as home to such hot contemporary comedies as Sex and the City, Everybody Loves Raymond, Family Guy, Seinfeld and Friends; high-profile original reality series, such as the upcoming He's a Lady and The Mansion; blockbuster movies; and hosted movie showcases.

Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., a Time Warner company, is a major producer of news and entertainment product around the world and the leading provider of programming for the basic cable industry.
