Famous Monsters Of Filmland To Pay Tribute To Wes Craven And More At The Silver Scream Film & Comic Fest
LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) Special guests join Silver Scream Fest to pay tribute to iconic genre entertainment.
A classy ambiance wrapped around the cinematic world of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy with respectful remembrances to West Craven, Bella Lagosi, and living legends John Landis and Rick Baker.

SILVER SCREAM FILM AND COMIC FESTIVAL, presented by Famous Monsters and Santa Rosa Entertainment Group, is looking to discover new talent, unite the entertainment community, and encourage genre conversation in a three-day event located in Northern California's beautiful wine country.

Along with featuring projects from up-and-coming talent, the fest will pay homage to some of genre entertainment's most iconic films and filmmakers. The event, which will take place March 4-6 in Santa Rosa, California, will screen both A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and NEW NIGHTMARE in honor of Wes Craven. Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund, will be in attendance along with co-star Heather Langenkamp for a tribute to their late director.

There will also be appearances by seven-time Oscar-winning makeup effects artist Rick Baker (MEN IN BLACK, ED WOOD, THE WOLFMAN) and legendary director John Landis (THE BLUES BROTHERS, ANIMAL HOUSE, TRADING PLACES) in honor of the 35th anniversary of their seminal creature feature AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON; Bela Lugosi Jr.; SIMPSONS character designer Eric Keyes; and graphic novel superstar Darick Robertson.

The purpose of the annual SILVER SCREAM FILM AND COMIC FESTIVAL is to cherry-pick burgeoning creative talent and provide an industry spotlight for the best in genre storytelling — horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and combinations of the three. The only criteria for SILVER SCREAM FILM AND COMIC FESTIVAL content other than genre is to captivate the audience and inspire the imagination.

Submissions are now being accepted for four genre film categories: feature film, animation, short film, and screenplays. Silver Scream Fest is also looking for the next big idea in comics. Participants in this area of the festival can submit a completed, unpublished graphic novel, a graphic novel script, or graphic novel concept art.
