LA's Sheer Streaming New LP 'Uneasy' On Bullett Magazine
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Simi Valley, CA's Sheer is streaming its entire new LP 'Uneasy' on Bullett Magazine. Accompanying the stream is a track-by-track commentary from the band themselves.

The LP is out digitally and on limited edition cassette this Friday, November 20th via The Native Sound.

Bullett says, "Noisome, harrowing shoe-gaze is in no short supply of late, so it's a tricky proposition to stand out from the overstuffed genre. But, as with any style of music, there's a simple solution to that problem: write viscerally effective songs. Easier said than done, of course, but on Uneasy, from LA four piece Sheer, Gina Almaguer and company erect massive edifices of feedback that they cut through with melody, as on "Monochrome" the LP's opening track. Elsewhere, on songs like "Ojai", the evoke the lush, and Lush, sounds of 90s alt-rock, with guitar leads knifing through the fuzz and countering the more pop-focused melodies of the vocals."

Part shoegaze, part 90s-alternative and grunge, Sheer formed in the summer of 2014, quickly becoming a staple in the greater LA scene,

The band channels an earnestness redolent to that of mid-90s emo and indie rock, while primarily occupying a reverb-induced space suggestive of Galaxie 500 and The Jesus And Mary Chain.

While Uneasy introduces the band as one with a kinship for catchy, pop-informed melodies, their focus relies most heavily on building evocative and emotive soundscapes.

What others are saying about Sheer:

"...kicks off like anthemic Replacements-y alt-rock, but once the vocals come in their shoegaze influence becomes clear too."- Brooklynvegan

"With big fuzzy riffs and the kind of vocals that settle into you like hug, Sheer find empowerment in singing your anxities out loud."- Noisey

"Their '90s-infected brand of garage rock is confident and self-assured, regardless of the fact that the chorus of this song rides on overwhelming feelings of ineptness. This is the title track off of Sheer's forthcoming debut, and the accompanying Colin McCaffrey-directed clip shows the band putting all of their anxieties on display."- Stereogum

"There's something rather magical about hearing the rough and the smooth come together in majestic harmony and California's Sheer conjure up something very special indeed... Like catching sudden bursts of sun rays through the most dense of storms...a resoundingly monumental combination of voice and instrumentation that instantly thrusts the forthcoming record to the forefront of the year's remaining releases."- Gold Flake Paint
