LONDON, UK (V2/ Virgin Records) - On Monday 17th January 2005, competition and rivalry will be put aside as the UK's commercial radio stations come together for the first time to create UK Radio Aid.

This unique national commercial radio station will specifically focus on raising money for the children affected by the Asian Tsunami.
That means that those listening to Classic FM and Virgin Radio will hear the same show.
The idea is to drive people to the appeal fund and raise as much money as possible. All advertising during that time will go to the fund too. Just this alone will raise 1.5m
Potential audience could be 26.5m which could be biggest in modern history
Lots of artists are doing special things to provide content to be used in the 12 hours.

Here's what we are doing:

Paul Weller: Paul has recorded a fantastic version of 'Come Together' the Beatles classic, and this will be the theme of the day.
The News of The World will run a phone line so you can listen to the song on Sunday and all money will go to the fund.

Stereophonics: Are providing a special live track that's being recorded this week, they will also do an interview on Monday.

Nathan: Schools will be bidding for a performance from him for their assembly.

Thankyou to those artists for their time and contributions.

Other contributions are from Liam Gallagher, David Gray, Lemarr, Jamelia, Blue, Scissor Sisters, Sting, Keane and many more.
The DJ line up on the day includes Chris Evans, Johhny Vaughan, Davina McCall, Dermot O'Leary and.... Tony Blair.
The Prime Minister will present the Breakfast Show for half an hour.
