San Jose, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Sony BMG) - Greg Kihn, the 1980's recording artist known for his chart-topping songs and MTV videos, "Jeopardy," and "The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em Like That)," as well as San Jose's current No 1 FM
Radio Morning Man, has found a new outlet for his talents. When's he's not on the radio, Greg has become an in-demand corporate and trade association special event celebrity performer, motivational and keynote speaker, and event emcee for national and Bay Area clients. In the years since topping the Billboard charts, Greg has reinvented himself from pop star to successful businessman, but is most recognizable as the Bay Area's No 1 radio morning man reigning supreme on San Jose's KFOX 98.5 FM Classic Rock radio with a daily listening audience that includes greater San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley.
As a motivational and keynote speaker, and event emcee, Greg relates to, motivates and captivates the audience with real-world and, often times, hysterical tales from over 30-years of overindulgent Rock Star exploits and escapades. Regardless of the audience, from Casino appearance, university commencement, corporate golf outing, sports hospitality event, corporate function, trade show, and VIP meet-and-greets, Greg has been delivering customized and memorable appearances and speaking engagements for years.
Greg weaves engrossing and elaborate messaged tales about his Rock and Roll adventures, encompassing those times he's been at the top of the charts or the bottom of the barrel that everyone can relate to. Greg's presentation drives home messages of innovation, creativity, stick-to-itiveness, passion, determination, motivation, perseverance, teamwork, leadership, ambition, goals and ultimately success. Greg uses audience interaction, humor and even music and song to inspire and motivate. As a successful businessman who continually takes on, adapts to and conquers every challenge, Greg has learned much from his life's adventures. Greg shares with and inspires others about what drives and motivates him now in his current successes and future endeavors and how the audience can get the most out of life and career.
The Greg Kihn Band, with Greg's son Ry on lead guitar, performs nationally, as well as in the Bay Area, at special private corporate, association, conference, trade show, and sporting events. Countless loyal fans of Greg's radio program and music operate and are employed by many of the Silicon Valley's leading corporations and the Greg Kihn Band is frequently tapped to perform at events as diverse as the company Christmas Party, annual sales meetings, product roll-out ceremonies, trade show events, to the company employee family picnic.
Greg also performs in a Rock and Roll all-star band with friends Eddie Money and John Waite, also featuring son Ry on lead guitar. Aptly named Money Kihn Waite and Friends, the band performs at select upscale engagements with other leading rockers, such as lead vocalist Mike Reno of Loverboy, Jimi Jamison of Survivor, and Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night, to name only a few. Performing nationally and internationally, Greg, Eddie, and John can be booked together as Money Kihn Waite and Friends, or individually.
In 2006, Greg and Ry co-hosted Guitar Player Magazine's 2006 Guitar Hero's Competition, which featured performances by some of the best undiscovered guitarists from all over the world, all of who converged on San Francisco's Great American Music Hall to compete. Every year in September, Greg, with an impressive list of recording artists, performs at TroopFest, in Alameda, California, in a five-hour benefit festival and concert aboard the USS Hornet aircraft carrier museum for 3,000 servicemen and their families. The event, sponsored by the American Red Cross' Operation: Care and Comfort, a charity near-and-dear to Greg's heart, raises funds to send care packages to US Troops abroad. And in October of 2006, Greg was a special presenter at the Technical Excellence and Creativity (TEC) Awards, which took place in San Francisco. Considered the Academy Awards of the professional recording industry, the TEC Awards honors the best record producers and engineers in the world.
