JACKSONVILLE, FL. (Top40 Charts/ Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions) - So many times in the music industry, some of the highest caliber of musicians never rise to their full potential of deserved success simply because of lack of PR, press and media coverage. Unfortunately, the opposite is also true. All too many times, 'less than the best' rise to the top because of an over abundance of press and media. That is why I so love what I do. I have been blessed with the opportunity to give truly great (and deserving), artists and bands the recognition they deserve, on a massive scale worldwide, while helping to turn on the world, to excellent new performers. Not only is this my job, but it is truly a pleasure as well. Especially when given the opportunity to work with, and help turn the world onto such immense talent per se, as R&B artist Bishop Wayne, whose recently released CD, "I'm Just Me", has everything it takes (and more), to launch this exceptional performer's career, (deservingly), straight to the top.

When it comes to outstanding R&B, Bishop Wayne's music is in a league of it's own. Bishop Wayne's independently produced CD, "I'm Just Me," is one classy musical ride, delivering to fans 16 tracks of what Bishop Wayne describes as "Alternative R&B". To elaborate further his style, I would have to say, it is a combination of the best of the romantic and sexy 'old school style R&B', (in the vein of such unforgettable greats as Marvin Gaye and Al Green), combined with a more contemporary style, (Tracy Chapman, John Legend); mix in a little Santana-esque guitar work, a little Bruce Hornsby-esque piano work, backing the super smooth vocal capabilities very distinctive of Bishop Wayne's sound. One more element that is added that makes Bishop Wayne's sound unique, (even beyond the unique combination of elements so far), is a subtle under current of 'island vibe' mixed in, with songwriting skills comparable and reminiscent to the late, great and legendary Lucky Dube.

No doubt, Bishop Wayne delivers to fans more than their money's worth, with 16 tracks on one single outstanding CD, which was released in December 2007. But what's more, not one of the tracks on this CD are 'filler tracks', as all tracks on this CD are of a very high quality in songwriting and musicianship. Also quite notably, is a rich amount of styles embraced on this CD, ranging from old school R&B, contemporary R&B, elements of rock, alternative, smooth jazz, and reggae; thus generating a very broad marketing appeal, appreciative to a very large spectrum of listeners; making this CD, in all actuality and truth, one of the best R&B CDs I've heard in a number of years. Ask any fan of Bishop Wayne's, and it's a safe bet that they will agree.

One reason that the signature 'island vibe' flows so naturally within Bishop Wayne's very distinct, (and classy yet down to Earth), style of R&B, comes from the fact that Bishop was born in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands; though later moved to the Tampa, Florida area where he resides today. Needless to say, Bishop Wayne has been a favorite performer of the area since he began taking music seriously as a performer/singer/songwriter in 1997, and since he began performing professionally in 2000. From there, his notoriety and acclaim as a performer, singer and songwriter have been steadily expanding on both a national and global level, especially since the release of his new CD, "I'm Just Me", which is gaining fans, large scale, for Bishop Wayne, in all of the many genres this CD embraces.

To name just a few of Bishop Wayne's many accolades he has acquired during his relatively short career in the music industry: in the very prestigious Grammy Showcase Competition in October 2006, which took place in Miami, Florida, Bishop Wayne placed in the top 35 out of 250 acts performing at this competitive event. Bishop Wayne also achieved an award in the category of "Best New Artist of the Year" at the R&B Awards in 2003, which took place in Salt Lake City, Utah. Achieving such award winning acclaim as Bishop Wayne has gained in such a relatively short amount of time as a professional performer speaks volumes about his mastery and prowess as a songwriter, composer, singer and performer; not to mention an immense amount of future potential on his imminent rise to greater music industry success.

Since the release of Bishop's CD "I'm Just Me", which was recorded at Tellus Adduce Zounds in Tampa, mastered at Vision Sound Studios in Jacksonville, Florida, and Produced by Winfred Durand, Bishop Wayne, Andre Lewis, and Eustace and Anthony Ferdinand, and notably featuring guitarist, Ty'ger Ken Hanley; tracks from the CD have gained an impressive and steadily increasing amount of airplay on a number of mainstream and internet radio stations, both nationally and worldwide, during the on going radio airplay campaign that is currently underway for the CD's promotion. Bishop Wayne is also gaining a significant amount of requests as a guest on radio stations. To name a few, Bishop has already been featured as a guest on such radio stations as; 88.5 WMNF FM in Tampa, WFLR 96 FM in Sarasota, internet radio station "On The Horizon", Tampa Bay Community Network's Pappa Sean Show, amongst others.

And yes! Currently Bishop Wayne and Management are currently seeking and accepting further dates for a US tour to promote this new CD, (which is already underway), as well as seeking corporate sponsorship to further extend Bishop's tour beyond US borders to embrace fans worldwide. Bishop has expressed a desire to perform for fans in such countries and locations as: England, France, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Norway, Greece, all of Europe and Asia, (especially Japan), the Caribbean, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, Australia and other destinations.

Bishop Wayne's musical influences include: Bob Marley, Barris Hammond, Ben Harper, Robert Randolph, Anthony Hamilton, Jill Scott, Aerosmith, Lenny Kravitz, Run DMC, Musically Youth, Steel Pulse, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Eric Clapton, Dido, Tracy Chapman, Sade, Journey, Dave Hollister, Alanis Morissette, Creed, Lighthouse, Maroon 5, Green Day, Gnarles Barkley amongst his many influences. Bishop Wayne would make an excellent choice as the opening/supporting act for any of these great acts that are currently touring.

Talent buyers, venues, concert and festival promoters that are interested in booking Bishop Wayne for an upcoming event, or headlining acts that would like to have Bishop Wayne as their opening/supporting act, can contact Bishop Wayne's Management at [email protected].

Press and media campaigns are in the works as well to promote Bishop Wayne's outstanding new CD, "I'm Just Me", so fans can be on the lookout for upcoming media appearances featuring this outstanding artist in the near future. TV and radio programming that would like to schedule Bishop Wayne as a guest for their programming can do so by contacting Bishop's Management at [email protected].
(Potential corporate sponsors, talent buyers and headlining artists interested in working with Bishop, note, any artists especially in the beginning phases of a press and/or media campaign, can be very advantageous to work with, as by working with them, this can give you added press and media as well, which can equate to advertising/exposure on a large scale for you, as well.)

On many occasions, Bishop Wayne has been known for combining shows and sharing the stage with another very progressively up and coming act, rock/R&B/hip hop band Love Piece, from Lakeland, Florida, MySpace.com - Love Piece - LAKELAND, US - Hip Hop / Soul / Rock - www.myspace. Both Bishop Wayne and Love Piece individually are known for delivering charismatic, dynamic performances, and great music to their fans. Fans in attendance of those shows can attest, that when working together, we're talking about some seriously riveting entertainment!

Noticing a pattern with Bishop Wayne of delivering to fans much more than most acts, more versatility within the music, 16 tracks on a single CD, Bishop Wayne's dedication to always giving something MORE to his fans is perhaps enough to make him very deserving of his success.
However, the excellence of musicianship, songwriting and vocals delivered on his latest outstanding CD, is the stuff that should give him the major amount of recognition he truly deserves back, as the prolific artist he is. We at Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions are very thrilled for the opportunity to help further turn the world on to Bishop Wayne and his latest CD release, and very glad to be a part of this artist's future, (and much deserved), greater success in the music industry. If you haven't heard his new CD, "I'm Just Me" yet, treat yourself to it today, you're going to love it...and as a connoisseur of great music and R&B, you deserve it.
