NEW YORK (TCOOO) - Rising reggae artist and producer Slinky Sharp has died in a tragic car accident in North Carolina. While the details of the accident are not exactly clear, the report is that Slinky Sharp was a passenger in the car that crashed while on their way home from a show. Slinky Sharp was rushed to the hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Slinky Sharp was born Jermaine Cole in Kingston, Jamaica and was raised in Hanover, Jamaica. He migrated to the United States in 1999 and attended Erasmus Hall High school in Flatbush, a neighborhood in the heart of Brooklyn NY. Slinky Sharp who has been singing music since the age of seven started doing reggae seriously during High School and chose it as is career path after High School. Although Slinky Sharp would eventually leave Brooklyn and move to North Carolina he never forgot his Brooklyn family, friends, fans and roots. His loyalty to Brooklyn was evident in the hit single 'Top class Beauty' when he sang:
'This Brooklyn hustla speedy and classy Work off Delilah, she couldn't cut mi knotty'

Slinky Sharp was a very talented artist who performed on numerous shows with the like of Sean Paul, Beenie Man, Sanchez and Beres Hammond. His album tilted 'The Sharp Truth' is one of the top reggae albums on ITunes and features the two hit singles 'Top Class Beauty' and 'Yoo Hoo'. The hard working artist/producer also had his own distribution label www.coledistribution.com. He used the site to not only sell his music but also the music of fellow artists. Not only was Slinky a great artist but he was also a top class producer, he just finished creating a hot dancehall track called the 'Money Makka' and was giving it to fellow artistes to listen and write lyrics for it.

On the popular NY Reggae programs www.bigfm95.com and www.naturalfreaks.com both fans and fellow artists called in to express their love and respect for Slinky Sharp.
Envy Don (radio DJ and sound selector): Slinky Sharp was one of the greatest artists I know. He never thought about robbing or killing anyone, all he thought about was his music.

Bookman 'The Stepping Razor' (artist): The youth was wicked and did some great works. Just few days ago he send me the 'Money Maka' rhythm, and I already did a hook and was getting ready to write the verses, I can't believe he is gone.
Pepe (artist): We have to finish the works he started; we have to keep Slinky flag flying High.

Scorpion (artist): I just talk to the man a few days ago, I am shocked, and we have to keep his work alive.
Predator: (artist) When Scorpion told me what happen to Slinky, I was in disbelief, and I can't believe it man.
