Hey Monday Unveils New Version Of Fan-favorite 'Candles,' Out On February 8, 2011
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) On February 8th, Hey Monday will release a bold, newly recorded version of their fan-favorite song "Candles" on iTunes, along with a previously unreleased acoustic demo of the track and a brand new song. The original version of "Candles" appeared on the band's debut, 'Hold On Tight.' The aforementioned previously unreleased song, "The One That Got Away," was recorded during the 'Beneath It All' sessions and co-written by frontwoman Cassadee Pope with Sam & Sluggo and The Hooters.

Says Cassadee, "'Candles' has always been a precious song to all of us. It was our first ballad, and even more importantly, a very honest song lyrically. I went through a difficult break-up when I was 17 and this song was like my therapy session. Since we started playing it live 3 years ago, we've had different ideas to change it up and make it evolve. That's why I'm very excited about this new version. It's more organic sounding now. I was able to re-record the vocals and pretty much sing the song exactly like I do live."

The band's latest, 'Beneath It All,' debuted in the Billboard Top 25 when it was released last summer and their tour with All Time Low and Yellowcard begins in early March.
