New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) The Iridium will kick off summer with a spectacular lineup of guitarists in honor of Les Paul's 98th birthday June 3-12. The rest of the month will feature a mix of guitar greats like
Kevin Eubanks and Jimmy Vivino with jazz stars including Gerald Clayton and Paquito D'Rivera. Check out some of the highlights:
May 31-June 2: Todd Barkan Presents Keystone Korner Nights Summer Weekend Jazz Festival - Jazz impresario Todd Barkan presents a three-night festival as part of his Keystone Korner series, featuring critically acclaimed young pianist Gerald Clayton with his Trio (5/31-6/1) and 11-time Grammy-winner and Latin jazz/classical icon Paquito D'Rivera (6/2).
June 3-12: Les Paul's 98th Birthday Week - Some of the top names in guitar, including Zakk Wylde, Rock Candy Funk Party (ft. Joe Bonamassa), Lee Ritenour, and JJ Grey & Mofro, will take the stage to honor The Iridium's patron saint and the father of the electric guitar, Les Paul. June 19: Ian McLagan - There is no other keyboardist in the history of rock & roll with a more stunning resume than Ian McLagan. He was the animating force behind The Faces & The Small Faces, and has toured and recorded with the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, Taj Mahal, John Hiatt,
David Lindley, Paul Westerberg, Billy Bragg and Patty Griffin, just to name a few.
June 24: Lita Ford w/ The Les Paul Trio - The lead guitarist for iconic 70's female hard rockers The
Runaways and prolific solo artist came to international fame with hits like "
Cherry Bomb" and "Queens of Noise." She'll make her Iridium debut sitting in with Les Paul's trio.
July 1:
Kevin Eubanks w/ The Les Paul Trio - Best known for appearing alongside Jay Leno as the leader of the
Tonight Show Band for 15 years, Eubanks has performed on over 100 albums in his remarkable career. His latest release, 'The Messenger,' showcases his broad musical sensibilities, blending jazz, blues, and funk across his original compositions and covers of
John Coltrane and
Maxwell Middleton.
