City Winery Chicago Announces Christopher Cross, Lisa Fischer And More
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) City Winery Chicago, 1200 W. Randolph Street, announces the return of multi-Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Christopher Cross, Twenty Feet from Stardom's Ms. Lisa Fischer & Grand Baton, award-winning Celtic quarter We Banjo 3, and more. The following shows go on sale to the public on Thursday, November 1 at noon. All tickets will be available at citywinery.com/chicago.

The Hot Sardines
Wednesday, January 23
$32/$35/$38/$40
The Hot Sardines have brought their contagious brand of joy to audiences all over the world. Bandleader Evan "Bibs" Palazzo and lead singer "Miz Elizabeth" Bougerol combine with the Sardine ensemble of powerhouse musicians - and their very own tap dancer - to play "hot jazz" as it was in the era when live music was king: with a little glamour, a little grit, and a lot of passion. Even while giving voice to the history-defining jazz of the 1920's, 30's, and 40's, the Hot Sardines' vibrant performances bridge generations and captivate 21st century audiences.

Susan Werner
Sunday, January 27; 7:00 p.m.
$28/$35/$38/$42
Chicago-based, Iowa-born singer/songwriter Susan Werner opted to forgo a career as an opera singer, choosing to dedicate herself to songwriting instead, building a reputation at jazz clubs, coffeehouses, and folk festivals along the Eastern Seaboard. Werner has toured the nation with acts such as Richard Thompson, Keb Mo, and Joan Armatrading, and was featured in a 1998 Peter, Paul, and Mary PBS special as one of the best of the next generation of folk songwriters. She has 11 albums to date, the most recent of which, Hayseed, is the fourth in a series of concept albums, and pays tribute to American agriculture and Werner's Iowa farm roots, with subjects such as farmer's markets, agrochemicals, climate change, drought, longing for a sense of place, and the movement towards sustainable agriculture.

Ms. Lisa Fischer & Grand Baton
Monday-Tuesday, February 4-5
$45/$48/$55/$58
Ms. Lisa Fischer is stepping into the spotlight once again. After four decades of singing backup for icons like the Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, and Nine Inch Nails, Fischer is offering her own humble, heartfelt songs accompanied by her inventive band Grand Baton in this return engagement at City Winery.

The unexpected success of the Oscar-winning documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom (2013) altered the course of Fischer's musical journey. The film told her story, complete with clips of her 1991 Grammy-winning R&B hit "How Can I Ease The Pain," live footage of her legendary duets with Mick Jagger on "Gimme Shelter," and glowing testimonials from famous colleagues like Sting, Patti Austin, and Chris Botti. It showcased her virtuosity and vulnerability, opened a window on her sometimes lonely life on the road, earned her a second Grammy award, and left audiences eager to see and hear more.

We Banjo 3
Friday, March 1; 7:00 & 10:00 p.m.
$25/$28/$32/$35
Hailing from Galway, Ireland, award-winning quartet We Banjo 3 combines Irish music with old-time American and bluegrass influences to reveal the banjo's rich legacy and roots. Brothers Enda & Fergal Scahill and Martin & David Howley are among the most celebrated young musicians in Ireland today. Their competitive success is unrivaled, Martin holding 7 All Ireland titles, Enda with 4, while Fergal and David hold All Ireland titles on Banjo, Fiddle, Bodhran and Guitar. Originators of their own combination of celtic and bluegrass music ("Celtgrass"), We Banjo 3 released their newest album, Haven, in July 2018.

Christopher Cross - Take Me As I Am Tour
Tuesday-Wednesday, March 19-20
$68/$75/$78/$82
Christopher Cross made history with his 1980 self-titled debut album, winning five Grammy® Awards, including-for the first time ever-the four most prestigious awards: Record of the Year (for the single "Sailing"), Album of the Year, Song of the Year (also for "Sailing"), and Best New Artist. His classic hits also include "Ride Like the Wind" and the Oscar-winning "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" from the film starring Liza Minelli and Dudley Moore - which remain staples on radio to this day.
