Legendary UK Punk Band "Special Duties" Signs Exclusive Label Deal With Jailhouse Records
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Jailhouse Records) U.K band Special Duties who recently played the renowned Rebellion Fest in Blackpool have recently partnered with U.S based label Jailhouse for their first new full length album of all new material in almost 20 years.

The band has released a slew of 7's, compilation appearances, E.P's and more since their formation in 79 (depending on who you ask) This will be their first official recorded output since their 7" with England band Koopa in 2007.

Jailhouse Records will also be restoring and re-mastering material from the bands extensive catalog over the fall/winter for early 2014 release which will include rarities and live tracks.

They are aiming for early Spring 2014 for their new full length.

Special Duties came into prominence with their early 80's single 'Police State' which entered the independent charts for two months, a rather unheard of feat for punk rock bands at the time.

The band has been credited with being highly influential on the street punk scene throughout the 80's up until today. With several of today's well known bands having been named after Special Duties songs, for example 'Violent Society". They have been cited as hugely influential from bands such as The Casualties, to The Virus, The Unseen, and just about any street punk style band in existence.

Their most infamous (and at the time highly controversial) move was in 1982 when the band released their highest selling single to date 'Bullshit Crass'. Calling into question Crass's intentions, and what the band at the time believed to be false motivations, and accusations toward Crass of delivering "crap, tasteless, unlistenable music while declaring at the same time that punk is dead".
The single still remains one of the most memorable to even non punk fans.

The band includes an almost completely original lineup with the exception of Steve Arrogant, who remains good friends with the band.
