Relight my Fire - Dan Hartman

Always liked this one and remember playing it in various bands throughout 79 and into the early 80's. Written and released by Dan Hartman in 1979, when it topped the U.S. dance-music charts for six weeks. It was also performed by British boyband Take That and Lulu in 1993. Loleatta Holloway is credited as a featured vocalist on some versions of the record, singing the "strong enough to walk on through the night" refrain. The song's strings and horns were played by MFSB and conducted by long time MFSB member Don Renaldo. The 12" version includes a 4-minute intro called Vertigo, often used in discos as a floorfiller before the song begins; this full version is available on Hartman's 1994 hits package entitled Keep The Fire Burnin'. I however decided to cut that intro (even though I'd recorded the full version) and fade it in at the start of the song as most know it, mainly because I felt people would've stop viewing before it got there. Great solid disco groove, reminds me of all those disco venues I worked in during the late 70's.
