New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Coinciding with Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, today, acclaimed singer-songwriter, producer, and Women's Rights advocate MILCK announces her documentary short, I Can't Keep Quiet, an intimate portrait of the artist's quest for healing through music and social advocacy.

The film will have a sneak preview at the Vital Voices Global Headquarters Festival in Washington D.C. tonight, and will make its world premiere next Thursday, May 11th at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. It is also set to screen at a number of festivals this summer, including the Center for Asian American Media Fest in San Francisco, and Mountainfilm Festival in Telluride.

Produced in partnership with P&G Studios and an all-female team, including Peabody Award-winning documentarian Grace Lee, Emmy Award winner Maile M. Zambuto, Kimberly Doebereiner (P&G Studios), Brianna M. Arnolde, Adrianne E. Gonzalez (AG), and Peabody Award-winner Eurie Chung in her directorial debut, I Can't Keep Quiet is an intimate portrait of MILCK's quest for healing reverberated around the globe through her song "Quiet," a viral anthem for the Women's Movement.

Five years later, the film takes a deeper look into the song's impact on MILCK's own reclamation journey: reclaiming trust in herself and her sense of belonging. As viewers follow MILCK's evolving path of activism and artistry, they get a window into how she's awakened by the stillness of quarantine and the reckoning of the United States' racial justice movement. Her acknowledgment and accountability for her blind spots give her and AG (the song's co-creator) a renewed sense of freedom as they celebrate that it's never too late to reclaim our voices. The documentary runs just under 30-minutes and packs an incredibly powerful punch about an extremely pivotal moment in MILCK's life and in our global society.

"I Can't Keep Quiet is the next project by P&G Studios exploring inspirational and thought-provoking storytelling - joining Sports Emmy Award Nominated The Cost of Winning, and the Oscar Shortlisted Coded: The Hidden Love of J.C. Leyendecker," says Kimberly Doebereiner, Head of P&G Studios. "Being able to partner in telling authentic stories by diverse storytellers is an important part of our widen the screen mission. I hope this film will create a deep connection and resonate with many."

Today, MILCK shares her latest single "Closer," which is featured in I Can't Keep Quiet. "Closer," MILCK explains, "confidently urges the listener to be brave and true"; a song which she co-wrote with Adrianne Gonzalez and frequent collaborator Garrison Starr. You can listen to the single here: https://onerpm.link/milckcloser.

MILCK participated in last week's TIME 100 Summit in New York City, an event that also featured Steven Spielberg, John Legend, and more. TIME's Women of the Year Summit and Vital Voices' annual Global Mentoring Walk with Diane Von Furstenberg and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and Human Rights Activist Nadia Murad. In 2022, MILCK made waves with the prevalent recent protest song "We Won't Go Back" with BIIANCO, GRAMMY-winner Autumn Rowe, and Ani DiFranco, as a direct response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. The year also marked the 5-year-anniversary since MILCK found worldwide success with her song "Quiet" during the 2017 Women's March, where her acapella performance with 25 strangers was captured by a cell phone and went viral. "Quiet" was named Billboard's No.1 Protest Song and selected for NPR's American Anthem Series.

MILCK uses her artistic platform for the advancement of social change. She taps into the emotional pulse of important cultural movements and creates art in collaboration with underrepresented communities. MILCK has established theSomebody's Beloved Fund to use her music to generate over $100K in resources for ten grassroots beneficiaries that build power around racial and gender healing.
