Biography
Handsome Poets, known for their classy fashionable looks on stage, sound as a mixture of Simple Minds, U2 and Coldplay. The band was established in the summer of 2009. In January 2010 they recorded their song Blinded with producer Erik Schurman at one of the bandmembers’ homes. A few months later the song made its national radio debute on 3FM. Not much later the song reached rank 15 in the iTunes Musicstore top 50. On the 10th of October they played as a support act for the English band Hurts in Paradiso Amsterdam. At the end of that month their new single Dance (the war is over) was dropped at 3FM and got directly adopted in their playlist. One week later it was 3FM Megahit. In the meantime Handsome Poets decided to write and record a new song every three weeks. This process will finally lead to the release of their debute album in January 2011. In august 2012 the scored their first great hit with "Sky On Fire". This song was used in a Dutch sport program about the Olympics and soon they were on top of the download charts of iTunes.
