Fantasticos

In mid-August 2012, the new Dutch duo "Fantasticos" spontaneously during an amusing conversation among some friends which spoke of the current lack of "real" cozy Dutch music in the style of the 60s.
The ingredients were quickly available ...the sound of that time (in a modern jacket in 2012) and the mellifluous voices of two great singers.
The names of Henk Janssen and Johnny Meijers came directly on the table, one (Henk) with Les Chromona and Moonlights past and the other (Johnny) with Sunstreams past. Johnny was born in 1949 in Egelantiersstraat in the Jordaan, moved at age 5 to Nijmegen. From his father he learned to play drums and accordion. Together with his father, there were already appearances at family parties and neighborhood evenings where Johnny stole the show with his unparalleled talent for drumming!
After primary and the technical school he started his own band "The Red Berries". Around the age of 20 years, Johnny was asked to be the drummer in the band Groesbeek "The Sunstreams". Partly because of the impressive fan base and the many appearances of this wildly popular group, they found their way to the studio. This gave Johnny in the early 80-2 gold and one platinum album. "At the border of the German hills" and "Can you hear the murmur of the waves" were two biggest Hits of The Sunstreams.
Late 80s Johnny started a pub in the city of Nijmegen. Until today's cafe "Sport Central" a busy shop where the typical Dutch cosiness prevails. Johnny, with his wife Jeannette, together provide a cozy atmosphere in their brown cafe "Sport Central"!
Henk, born in 1965 in Groesbeek, there also have been living until 1985. In addition to the primary school and the LTS (metal welder), the music played a big role in his life. At the age of 5 that interest was fueled by all the music that was played live at the Fair, in cafes and in many marquees that there were, especially in the summer in Groesbeek. The first encounter with Johnny The Sunstreams was when John was five years old and he secretly the marquee was crept to see. Drummer at work during a matinee There is a true friendship developed between Johnny and Hank. From that time Henk became completely captivated by the action of the musicians and Henk was clear, he had only one dream to be a drummer and play in an orchestra. When his mother went to pieces the baskets that were beaten by the broken drumsticks had received Henk Johnny. Henk's grandmother spared cigar boxes they filled with different amounts of sand to create. Whatever other sounds Also one of the things he after-aapte Johnny was there an empty beer bottle filled with water, because that Johnny had standing next to his drum kit!
Henk played as a drummer in various duos and bands like Les Chromona's - The Moonlights and even in the Havenzangers when the group was complete! Just like Johnny Henk was a drummer but he had a beautiful warm voice which resulted in several singles and actually own solo album. Some well-known songs from Henk "But once we are together" and "And very often you crying. ". Since 1985 Henk along with his family living in Nijmegen. Musically, the paths of Johnny and Henk ever crossed each other. Henk on his engagement - there, Johnny - Henk on his marrying Johnny Jose was present as a musician!
That it is now, in 2012, their musical paths had come together is a dream for both. Together the men as "Fantasticos" with a lot of zest and fun will go through life and the vote will take care of many a party in the coming years.
