Biography
State of Drama is a Swedish pop rock musical group with members from Borås, Ulricehamn and Göteborg. Formed in 2009, the group is currently signed with Universal Music Sweden.
The group took part in Svensktoppen nästa (literally The Next Swedish Chart), a music competition organized by Sveriges Radio P4 to search for new talents. The band finished runner-up with their song "Maybe". The song was played on the station in heavy rotation in a bid for chart success.
In spring 2012, State of Drama took part in yet another music competition, called Metro on Stage with the song "Can't Find You Anywhere". Winning approximately a thousand votes in the first public voting round, they reached the finals eventually winning the title. The prize was a record and marketing deal.
Melodifestivalen 2013
Around six months after victory in Metro on Stage, the band took part in Melodifestivalen 2013 with the song "Falling" in a bid to represent Sweden in Eurovision Song Contest 2013. They performed the song on semi-final 3 on 16 February 2013 finishing 2nd and qualifying straight to the final on 9 March 2013, where they came 9th.
Release of album
They released their debut album Fighter on March 6, 2013 just days before the Melodifestivalen final. The album includes their earlier hits "Maybe" and "Can't Find You Anywhere". On the week preceding the final, their song "Falling" entered the Sverigetopplistan, the official Swedish Singles Chart at number 26.
Melodifestivalen 2014
They appeared again in the Melodifestivalen 2014 with the song "All We Are", but failed to reach the finals.
