Biography
Christian Daniel is a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and actor based in Miami.
From his childhood in Puerto Rico, Christian Daniel felt the longing to become a singer; and at only five years old already showed a strong vocation. He grew up in a household where music was heard at all hours and that helped train his ears in various genres, such as the ballads of Jose Feliciano and Jose Jose, the rock of Sting and the powerful guitar of Eric Clapton.
During his adolescence, artists such as Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, John Mayer and Bruno Mars, among others, influenced his musical interests. His inclination toward music grew even more when he decided to take singing lessons without the approval from his parents. Some time later, he began to train with renowned maestro José Miguel Velazquez. At the same time, his skills in other areas of the art were developing; taking guitar lessons and piano to complement his studies of singing and acting lessons with renowned actors such as Adela Romero, Raúl Arrieta and Roberto Huicochea.
Daniel was always drawn to singing, and when he was 16 he, without his father knowing, began to take voice lessons and gather material together for a demo. Upon hearing his music, his father was impressed and convinced that Daniel was making the right decision, and eventually a copy of the demo made its way to Emilio Estefan, who was in the process of starting Bad Boy Latino with Sean "Diddy" Combs. Daniel became the first artist signed to the label, and in 2006 his self-titled debut, a collection of ballads sung in completely in Spanish, came out.
