I Prevail, a Southeast Michigan band with former Rochester College student Eric Vanlerberghe as a member, recently made a cover of “Blank Space” that has been a hit.
I Prevail’s cover of “Blank Space” offers an interesting twist on the original song. The song presents gritty vocals, hard guitar riffs and fast drumming, all while still maintaining the pop sensation that Swift originally gives off.
The band posted its video to YouTube on Dec. 1, and since then the cover has received more than 65,000 hits. For a while, if one searched “Blank Space” in the YouTube search bar, I Prevail’s cover was the second result, coming in close behind Swift’s own video.
The band’s Facebook page has received over 1,600 “likes” in under 48 hours, and its video has just over 300 shares from its page.
I Prevail consists of 5 members:
Jordan Berger - Guitars
Brian Burkheiser - Vocals
Steve Menoian - Guitars
Lee Runestad - Drums
Eric Vanlerberghe - Vocals
The band has influences coming from A Day to Remember, Bring Me the Horizon, We Came as Romans.
