Biography
KDA is a house music producer and DJ from London. He is best known for his 2015 song "Rumble", which was first released on Ministry of Sound, but was subsequently reworked featuring vocals from Tinie Tempah and Katy B titled "Turn the Music Louder (Rumble)".
On 16 October 2015 KDA released his debut single "Turn the Music Louder (Rumble)", the song features vocals from Tinie Tempah and Katy B. The song premiered on Annie Mac's radio show on 2 September 2015, and it was BBC Radio 1's Track of the Day on 30 September 2015. On 19 October 2015 the song was at number 1 on the Chart Update in the UK. On 23 October 2015 the song entered the UK Singles Chart at number 1, making it KDA and Katy B's first number 1 single in the UK and Tinie Tempah's seventh number 1.
Patrick Junior C. Okogwu (born November 7th, 1988 in Plumstead, South London), better known by his stage name Tinie Tempah, is a BRIT Award-winning rapper, MC and CEO of Disturbing London Records. Tinie gained national acclaim and chart success upon the release of his major label debut single Pass Out which debuted at #1 on the UK Singles Chart in March 2010.
According to the Pass Out Songfacts, Okogwu came up with his stage name at the age of 13. He looked up 'anger' in the thesaurus and found himself staring at 'temper.' Concerned it might be overly aggresive he added 'Tinie.'
Tinie Tempah first gained recognition in the underground music scene with the track Wifey, taken from his first official mixtape Hood Econ%mics Room 147: The 80 Minute Course. Upon it's release, the track became an instant smash, holding the Channel U urban chart top spot for 10 consecutive weeks. Established artists within the Grime scene including Bashy and Chipmunk featured on the mixtape. In 2009 Tinie Tempah released his second official mixtape Sexy Beast: Volume 1.
In October 2009 Tinie Tempah announced a record deal with EMI/Parlophone. He released his debut album on the label, disc-overy, on October 4th 2010. The album spawned six consecutive top 20 singles in the UK including number ones pass out and written in the stars, and swedish house mafia collaborative single miami 2 ibiza.
disc-overy is due for release in the US on May 17th 2011. The tracklist for the album features new collaborations with wiz khalifa, bei maejor and ester dean. It was preceded by written in the stars as it's lead single, which has thus far peaked at 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Kathleen "Katie" Brien, better known as Katy B, (born 8 May 1989) is an English singer-songwriter and a graduate of the BRIT School. She is a Dubstep, RnB, funky, house and UK Garage singer and has also performed under the name Baby Katy. She was born in Peckham, South London. Other BRIT alumini who have found success include Amy Winehouse, Jessie J, Leona Lewis and Adele who was in the year above Katy. Having been offered major label deals in 2009, she released her first single with the label Rinse in 2010. The same year, she completed a degree in Popular Music at Goldsmiths, University of London.
DJ NG's song "Tell Me", which she featured on as Baby Katy, was released on a white label and later signed to Ministry of Sound. Katy B has collaborated with Geeneus to cover the Kevin Saunderson produced "Good Life" and the track "As I". She also provides vocals on the track "Hold Me" for The Count & Sinden's debut album Mega Mega Mega and features on Magnetic Man's tracks "Perfect Stranger" and "Crossover".
Geeneus, with whom Katy B collaborated with, works for Rinse FM. Following the official recognition of the station in June 2010 (formerly a pirate radio station), Rinse presented Katy B's first single, "Katy On a Mission", which was produced by Benga and was released on 22 August 2010. The single reached number 5 on the UK Singles Chart and number 1 on the UK Indie Chart.
Katy B performed at the London Jazz Festival in 2009 with Ms. Dynamite and is collaborating with Ms. Dynamite on her upcoming album. Ms. Dynamite also featured on Katy's second single, "Lights On" which was released in the UK on 19 December 2010, where it debuted at number 4 on the UK Singles Chart.
Katy B released her third single, "Broken Record which was released in the UK on 25 March 2011 and reached number 8 on the UK Singles Chart.
On the 4 April 2011, Katy B released her debut studio album 'On a Mission'. The album debuted at number 2 in the UK.
