Biography
Raised in rural Strafford, Vermont, where his family owned a tree farm, Noah Kahan is a singer/songwriter of folk-infused pop in the vein of Ben Howard and Vance Joy. Writing songs since the age of eight and growing into a raspy vocal delivery, he was in high school when he approached friends in the music business about helping him produce and upload some of his work to music-sharing sites.
After eventually coming to the attention of producer Joel Little (Lorde, Broods), who offered to collaborate, Kahan signed with Republic Records at the age of 20. The label released his songs "Young Blood," "Hold It Down," and "Sink" in quick succession as official singles in the first half of 2017. The second half of the year included a tour in support of the Strumbellas and the release of another single, "Hurt Somebody." An EP of the same name arrived in January 2018.
