Biography
Saxophonist Marcus Anderson was born in 1985 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Eventually graduating from North Carolina Central University, he began the life of the working musician, accompanying various artists and doing his own gigs in between. Eventually a video of one of Anderson’s fiery solo performances caught the attention of Prince, who immediately hired Anderson as a full-time touring musician for the New Power Generation between 2012 and 2016.
In addition to work with Prince, Anderson worked with Cee Lo Green and Judith Hill as well as releasing multiple solo albums. His 2015 album And Coffee was a collection of smooth jazz instrumentals inspired by the mellow moods of coffee consumption. The following year's My Inspiration was less playful and reflected more on social issues and personal introspection.
Brian Culbertson (born January 12, 1973) is an American contemporary jazz/R&B/funk musician, instrumentalist, producer and performer from Decatur, Illinois, United States. His instruments include the synthesizer, piano, trombone, drums, bass, trumpet, euphonium and percussion.
