Biography
The Cologne-based rapper, Amaru, is now embracing this trend by releasing a remix of one of his own songs. Sped-up versions of original tracks continue to be highly popular. Amaru's journey began in 2021 with his debut single, "Insert 11," which quickly gained traction on popular online and streaming platforms. What makes this even more remarkable is that, according to his Instagram profile, Amaru is still a student. This means he embarked on his music career and started releasing his own songs at a very young age.
A year later, he collaborated on "Blonde Chaya" with Gringo Bamba, a German-Peruvian musician who, as per his Insta bio, spends at least part of his time in Cologne. The song primarily delves into typical themes and scenarios of Generation Z. "Blonde Chaya" explores aspects of consumer hedonism, underground raves, and carefree coming-of-age experiences where you dance all night long. This danceable and synth-heavy track gains an extra dimension from Gringo Bamba's Spanish interlude, featured both at the beginning and toward the end of the song.
The sped-up version is currently making its way up various online charts, following a successful model primarily supported and widely shared through numerous TikTok videos. On TikTok, "Blonde Chaya" serves as background music for various dance videos and personal compilations of memorable party nights.
Amaru, who derives his stage name from Tupac Shakur's middle name, is a part of the 501aesthetics collective, which also includes artists like Rrotzer, Aleman, MCDEE, Sisr, and Airmax. Their style of rap, marked by influences from rock, techno, and R&B elements, has already created a buzz at various events.
