New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ ER:M+M) Beto Cuevas, Mauricio Clavería and Pedro Frugone from the Chilean group LA LEY, put on their first live show in the United States after being absent for almost a decade. The show took place at the Mo Bar Hotel Mandarin Oriental of Miami, at an intimate evening with a select audience that sang along and enjoyed the group's hits for over an hour. This is how LA LEY kicked off a series of concerts under the name of Mo Bar Unplugged that will feature well-known
Latino artists.
Their show took place just a week before the release of their album RETOUR, a record with their best tunes, chosen by the band members themselves, with which they announced a series of personal meetings with their fans during the week of its release. The album features great hits, such as "Día Cero", "Aquí", "Fuera de Mi" and "
Mentira", among other excellent songs, as well as the unforgettable rendition of "
El Duelo" with Ely Guerra's powerful and and unique voice as guest musician on the Unplugged version. RETOUR also includes the new song "Olvidar" which is already one of the most popular songs on the radio.
RETOUR will be available as of May 13, and autographs will take place during that week at the FYE store (Westfield Plaza Camino Real) in San
Diego on May 12, FYE in Fullerton, on May 13, Amoeba
Music in Los Angeles on May 14, and at Walmart in El Paso, TX on May 15.
Over 20 years have gone by since the release of their first official record called "Doble Opuesto". LA LEY has undoubtedly become one of Latin American rock's strongest pillars over its 15 years of existence, creating a strong influence for a whole new generation of bands during the last decade.
The band has earned tens of awards that include Grammys, several MTV, Billboard, Gardel (in Argentina) and Premios Lo Nuestro awards, among many others, throughout Latin America. LA LEY has gone through intense experiences during their career and since the band's formation in 1989, and since the release of the "
Invisible" (1985) record, the group's success has been ongoing.
LA LEY has 7 studio-recorded albums and one live-recording (MTV Unplugged). They have left their mark and are the only Chilean group to win 3 Grammys so far. After taking a break from the stage, which lasted almost a whole decade, LA LEY has officially returned with renewed energy and being much more powerful.
