New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Patrick Ballantyne Music) Patrick Ballantyne: New single ("Wrestling with the Devil"), New Album (Days of Rain), & New Show Dates

Having written with Big Sugar, The Trews, and CMT favorite Tim Chaisson, Patrick Ballantyne is best known as a collaborative songwriter. However, once in awhile the urge to record and perform overtakes him. Consequently, he is set to release his second album "Days of Rain" on June 3rd, 2014.

Ballantyne explains that the impetus for the album came from a deeply personal place; "There had been a lot of loss in my circle of family and friends. That's where the Days of Rain title came from. It was about trying to get through the dark to find the light."

Days of Rain channels Motown, the Beatles, Pink Floyd and classic "singer-songwriter" influences. Lyrically, however, the themes of loss and renewal make clear that Ballantyne is channeling 'Soul Music'.

The first single, "Wrestling with the Devil," will be available on iTunes and Google Play May 20th. The song chronicles efforts to break away from addiction. Ballantyne says, "The song was triggered by the deaths of Cory Monteith and then Phillip Seymour Hoffman shortly thereafter." The full album will be available for digital download with a custom iBook from iTunes on June 3rd or available for purchase through Google Play and his website www.patrickballantyne.com.
