Legendary Boston Ska-Rockers Bim Skala Bim... Back With An Unexpected But Brilliant New Album 'Chet's Last Call'
Boston, MA (Top40 Charts/ Powderfinger Promotions) Bim Skala Bim formed in Boston, MA as a Ska Rock band that was influenced by the groups in England's 2-Tone movement, as well as bands such as the Clash, UB40, and Bob Marley. Bim Skala Bim took a hiatus in 2002, but recently reformed with all of the original members and recorded a brand new album, "Chet's Last Call." Bim's infectious "Boston Blue Beat" sound - a mix of upbeat 2-Tone Ska, Rock n Roll, and a pinch of Calypsowith a substantial Reggae undertone--led them, together with The Toasters, to be the premier bands kick-starting the Third Wave of Ska in the 1980s. Other bands quickly followed their example resulting in a lively scene in Boston and much of the United States.

In 1997, Bim Skala Bim, The Dropkick Murphys, and The Bosstones emerged on a 50 date nationwide "Boston On The Road" tour, demonstrating the shared success of those Boston artists. One of the world's longest-running independent bands with over twenty-five years of touring and recording, Bim Skala Bim has released 9 highly acclaimed albums and has been the winner of 10 Boston Music Awards, 8 Boston Phoenix Reader's Poll awards, as well as Boston Magazine's "Best of Boston" twice. In March of 2013, Boston Business Journal rated Bim Skala Bim's Bones album #19 in their "Boston Top 40 Albums of All Time" list.

Chet's Last Call has Bim's unmistakable sound and they'll be touring in support of this new album in Europe in spring of 2014, finishing with an appearance at the much acclaimed Freedom Sounds Festival in Cologne, Germany in May.
