LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) Emerging new talent Adam Cleaver is a 23-year-old singer songwriter gearing up to headline the London Folk Fest in line with the release of his first, highly anticipated, EP 'Boxed & Braised'.
Now in its fourth year, The London Folk Fest at The Bedford Balham prides itself on being an event that creates inspiration and opportunities for artists to be seen and heard at their best. This June, the festival returns to the legendary venue with Adam Cleaver headlining the Theatre Stage, Sunday 8th June.
Adam has spent the last 12 months on the open mic circuit in London working on his growing catalogue of material. It was early during his open mic performances at The Hideaway in Tufnell Park that Adam met Matt Harris, Veta Records (HAWK) and set about working together on a debut EP that would allow Adam to realise some of the more larger scale influences on his writing like Jackson C Frank, Fleet Foxes,
Father John Misty and Other Lives.
The new EP Boxed & Braised, set for release 23 June 2014 is filled with delicate rich vocals, enchanting lyrics and acoustic guitar. Each track emerges casually and confidently, with a smooth blending of Adam's influences.
Adam is being hailed as a rare type of singer songwriter who combines well thought out lyrics with a decent vocal range and astutely pertinent guitar melodies. Adam is refreshingly unpretentious, movingly poignant; his arrangements in both voice and melody are finely tuned and matured, with a slight delicacy to some of the songs.
Adam began performing shows with a full band in early 2014 and has played the Lock Tavern, The Elgin, The Garage and various other key venues drawing a crowd each time.
Over the last 10 years the Bedford has played host to debut and early London performances from artists as diverse as Seth Lakeman, Newton Faulkner, Ed Sheeran,
Paolo Nutini,
James Morrison, The Dunwells,
Amy Macdonald and hundreds more.
Adam is one to watch. He will be playing his biggest dates this year at The London Folk Fest and Sebright Arms, Hackney 21 June supporting HAWK with the launch of their new EP Hush.
