Emerald And Doreen Records : Airsouth Feat. Elegy Parks - Deep Space Bird
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Emerald & Doreen Records) Considering a teen, 13 years of age, starting to produce Trance five years ago, would you consider him to come up with a tightly-knit electric dance sound in the tradition of Daft Punk five years later? Neither did we, but evidence here is that Vincent Henquit evolved to compose songlike tracks which add up to the legacy the mighty French duo of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Under the pseudonym of Airsouth, Vincent now concocts a brew of ingredients he started to digest from the day he began to twiddle the knobs of his controler. Lemâitre, Justice, Uppermost, J.A.C.K. ,M38, AWOLnation and many others can be traced in what you are about to listen to, but mostly the names which indulge in fat and broad synthlines, huge bassmotifs and solid beats.

"Odeon & The Cosmic Player" prides itself with a louder than loud fuzzbass and a lush synthlines, compressed to the max and treated in the snarling Edbanger fashion to become almost hollow. Singer Elegy Parks underpins the beefy layout with a beautiful popsensibility."Kokiaj" also features the talents of that lady, but this time the whole affair is more of colouring a certain mood which is set by the melancholic Rhodestheme. She more or less raps like in a frenzy to the hazy backdrop that gloomily hovers between subtle arpeggios and jazzy chords.

"Stained Bird" fully relies on the funky mutilation of the distorted bass which blends in and out of the tune until it becomes a trance-like-mantra.

Headpocket's Northwesterly Remix of "Odeon & The Cosmic Player" sets a lighter tone and possesses a floating quality than the original. By filtering the bass to a subdued color and having the voice like another shade of the pastel drawing, there's a pending ambiguity which sucks you in. In contrast OMFG Zombies' version makes all efforts to become a big drop in the sets of all Electrohouse-DJs who cherish a catchy tune.
