If/Then Debuts On Billboard At #19, Highest Cast Album Debut Since Rent
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ CineMedia Promotions) MASTERWORKS BROADWAY proudly announces the Original Broadway Cast Recording of If/Then makes a stunning debut at #19 on Billboard's Top 200 Chart. This is the highest debut for a Broadway cast album since Rent in 1996. The If/Then cast recording, produced by Steve Epstein, Tom Kitt and David Stone, also debuts at #1 on the Top Broadway albums chart.

"The If/Then recording beautifully captures the artistry of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's score and rightfully takes its place among the most important cast albums in the Masterworks Broadway catalog," says Scott Farthing, VP of Masterworks Broadway. "We are elated with its reception and are proud to be partners with Idina Menzel, David Stone, and the entire If/Then team."

"I'm thrilled that audiences have embraced If/Then, not only for the powerhouse performances by Idina Menzel and the entire Broadway company, but for Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's complex and rich musical score," said If/Then producer David Stone. "We're all very proud that the cast recording has made such an auspicious debut on the Billboard charts and we're excited that listeners around the world will be enjoying the score as much as our audiences are here on Broadway."

Idina Menzel made her Broadway debut in the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent, alongside her If/Then co-star Anthony Rapp. Both musicals were directed by Michael Greif. Menzel recently earned a Tony nomination for her performance in If/Then. Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey were also nominated for Best Score. Check out the official music video for If/Then's "You Learn To Live Without" performed by Idina Menzel here.

Idina Menzel returns to Broadway for the first time since winning the Tony Award for Wicked in If/Then, an original Broadway musical which reunites Tom Kitt (music), Brian Yorkey (book and lyrics), and Michael Greif (director), the creative team behind the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical, Next to Normal. If/Then is produced by David Stone, who produced both Wicked and Next to Normal.

If/Then is an original new musical that follows Elizabeth as she rebuilds her life in New York, a city of infinite possibilities. This contemporary musical is set where choice and chance collide. In one moment, Elizabeth will lead parallel lives. This is the story of both.

In addition to Menzel, the company of If/Then features LaChanze (Tony Award-winner for The Color Purple), Anthony Rapp (original cast of Rent), James Snyder (Cry-Baby), Jerry Dixon (tick, tick…Boom!, Once On This Island), Jenn Colella (Chaplin, High Fidelity), Jason Tam (A Chorus Line, Lysistrata Jones), Tamika Lawrence (Matilda), and Jackie Burns (Wicked).

The production also features Joe Cassidy, Miguel Cervantes, Curtis Holbrook, Stephanie Klemons, Tyler McGee, Ryann Redmond, Joe Aaron Reid, Ann Sanders, Marc delaCruz, Charles Hagerty, Janet Krupin and Pearl Sun.

If/Then features choreography by Larry Keigwin, set design by Tony Award-Nominee Mark Wendland, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Tony Award-Winner Kenneth Posner and sound design by Tony Award-Winner Brian Ronan. The production features musical direction by Carmel Dean, vocal arrangements by Annmarie Milazzo, and orchestrations by Tony Award-Winner Michael Starobin.

If/Then opened on Broadway on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). To purchase tickets please visit ifthenthemusical.com or Ticketmaster.com or call 877-250-2929.
